Damn was hoping they'd reside in the ******* for half a decade or more, this makes that unlikely. Come on sanctions you're our only hope.

I wouldn’t put much hope in NCAA sanctions. It’ll be a inconvenience for them, but they’ll be fine in a couple of years.

If they took away some scholarships couldn't they work a NIL deal to cover the cost of school for a 5 star "walk on" plus the usual bag of cash? A stronger *** offer so to speak

I was surprised he took that job with the uncertainty surrounding it. That’s a great hire for them.

That's so naive. Of course, the school can't sign a NIL contract with a player. But its boosters damn sure can. And effectively, there's very little difference.

It isnt naive, it is accurate. It is very clear, thru reading posts over the last year, than some on this board think schools can directly set up NIL deals for their student athletes. I responded in a way that assumed the other poster thinks that way since the other poster made a comment that sure makes it seem they think that way.

NOBODY thinks that. It's just a lot easier and quicker to type LSU set up an NIL deal that the LSU coach covertly and indirectly contacted one or more key boosters who then "independently" contacted the student athlete to set up an NIL deal.

I am not sure how someone that is as active as you could have missed all the discussion of this over the 9 or so months. At this point, nobody should still think it, thats for sure.

Yeah, I've missed where people actually think the schools can directly pay players. But if you think the schools aren't involved, that's extremely naive. Of course they are.
