Last four in, first four out now last four byes. How the hell are we supposed to understand this BS? Can he just say as of today are we in or out. All these fancy wording doesn't make him look smarter. It just confuses the people. He needs to learn the "KISS" method.

It’s not him. That’s how the Field of 68 is now. Last Four In have to play in Dayton in a play in game.

Last 4 byes- the last 4 to be seeded above the play in games.
Last 4 in- the last 4 to even make the tournament(in).
First 4 out- the 4 that barely missed(out).

These terms are not new and not difficult to understand.
Let us know how you would like the 3 situations to be described, since the above terms arent KISS enough.

I’m not sure what caused him to flip us and Penn State when neither team played yesterday. But I’ll take it. Feeling more and more like we are good to go if we win today, and not totally out of it even if we lose.

State can lock up a bid with a win away from home. Florida is without their big man (and best player). There is no way we lose.

Last 4 in have to play in the play-in games, against which 4 teams? Seems like "Last 4 in" should be "last 8 in"? Or am I not aware that certain AQ's get slotted right into the Dayton games?

How about we just watch the game today and hope we win? Seems a better use of time than listening to Joe Lunardi.

The last 4 in play each other. So 2 games take place. Those are all 4 11 seeds and there are also 2 other 11 seeds that are exempt and part of the bracket. The 2 winners of the play-in games then fill the final 2 spots for 11 seeds in the bracket.

Its the same for the 16 seeds. There are 6 16 seed teams. The highest rated 2 teams are exempt and immediately placed in the bracket to play against 2 #1 seeds. The remaining 4 16 seed teams then play to see who wins and gets to fill the remaining 2 slots in the bracket.

Right. So in Dayton you’ll have two games between bubble teams and two games between the worst four teams in the tournament. The SWAC champ is almost always in a play-in game.

Let’s be honest - it’s marketing! They found a way, and a clever one, to capitalize on the popularity of the “Final 4.”
