Side bar: I'm all for old school college football, earning your opportunity etc etc.
However in this day and age, Manning screwed himself sitting on the bench. He could be playing at most schools. Then take to the portal and be at any blue blood he wanted Jr and Sr.
I'm sure the cheddar he's getting takes a little sting out of it.
I would think based on the last name alone, Arch would have the same NIL deals regardless where he played.

Back in the 60’s we had a freshman team. You didn’t play for the varsity until your sophomore year. Only played about 5 games and played on Thursday afternoon if I recall correctly. Seems like they were all conference games if I remember correctly.
I could be wrong, but I thought I read he declined NIL money from the school.
I was told by some local alumni that he gave it to charity. Sounds like some PR campaign is trying to make them likeable. For sure he didn't decline it. And if it was charity, it's likely some manning family run non profit. But we all know what the most likely scenario is.
