Pumped to see him go out and ball. What a story. Hope it continues and starts making national headlines.

Question...is he better than Lloyd? I kind of think so. Runs with more power, seems to have better top end speed. Maybe Lloyd is a little more shifty. He certainly has more dog in him. Thoughts?

Agree, tough to bring down with arm tackles and you can tell he's on a mission.

Such a small sample size to make many judgements. He certainly looks very promising for the run game though. He's the only thing that's looked good for the run game this year. He runs with a purpose.

I wonder why Joyner gets any carries at all. It's just a waste of a play in my opinion.

I think he and Lloyd are pretty similar/comparable. I do think Mario is tougher though. He's fun to watch. Too bad we had to wait so long to get to watch him.

With our OL, Mario is a better fit than Lloyd. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a shot at the next level. They love big backs.

Super Mario is probably going to be the best RB we have had in the past 8 or 9 years.
From what I see from my sofa- Where he really separates him from Lloyd and the pack is that he runs like a man possessed. Lots of heart and determination. Like Rocky Balboa.

When I watched some of Lloyds runs at Southern Cal, I could not help but wonder why we did not see that same effort here.

I made the comment earlier this season that, when Joyner was in at QB, he had to pass occasionally for anyone to respect the possibility. I was corrected and told it was all a clever setup for when he does pass. He has yet to throw a pass. Now I know he's primarily a RB now. But having a former QB as your RB has so many trick play possibilities that are being missed.

True. He's not enough of a threat as either a dedicated RB or a dedicated QB to worry the defense. For him to be effective, there needs to be a the element of uncertainty...will he run or will he pass?

The one thing that is certain, is that if there is a tackler in front of him, he will run straight into him!

As good as Anderson has looked in his limited action, I really find it hard to believe that Joyner was ever the better option.

This was my thought. Surely the staff saw what we saw.

I've always wondered if it was something like pass protection that kept him off the field.

I suppose that was the assumption but if you have a choice between a RB who can't run the ball but can pass block well vs a RB who struggles with pass blocking but runs the the ball well, I'd take the latter every time.

Possibly, but think about our offense. We have Rattler throwing the ball around and running for his life. Mix in a (maybe) questionable blocker at RB, and you could hamper the one thing that is working, or get Rattler killed.

Again, not saying it's the reason, just something I think could be an explanation.

The one thing that gives me pause is how the staff mismanaged Zaquandre White when he was here.

Interesting comments from Mario on MoHard. This is the second time in recent weeks he's praised him.

Kid sounds like a great dude and teammate. Got a little Mustard in him too.
He has a better motor than Lloyd. I believe he would run it 8 times in a row.
