I'm seeing Penn State winning 133, 141, 174, 184 and 197. My guess is Michigan wins 125, 149, 165 and 285. That leaves 157 as a toss up. I get more anxious watching a match like this than any Penn State football game.

Are we healthy enough at 141?
I don't have a good feeling about this match. Some early momentum would help a lot.

very unlikely that we'll get any indication on that until shortly before the match starts on Friday.

Byers did say on the radio broadcast of the Rutgers dual that Nick had just been medically cleared the previous day (Saturday, Jan. 15), and as such had not had any time to work on conditioning and get ready to wrestle. He went on to say that barring any unforeseen medical issues during this week, that Nick should be ready to go against Michigan.

Nick has had stops and starts throughout the season, which I attribute to him not being as dominant (yet) as last season. So even if healthy on Friday, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not the Nick we’re used to. He can still win not being the Nick we’re used to, but he can also lose. Micic just came off a nice thumping of a Buckeye and will have more momentum than Nick. Micic is tremendous but he’s still not quite the Micic he or UM expects just yet, as he just started wrestling again at this higher weight

I am excited for 285 to see where Kerk is going to slot right now among Steveson, Parris, and Cass. I really feel like they are the top 4 not just in the conference but in the country. Going 2-0 against that group would be huge heading into B10's

We will also know where Dean is going to be after Brucki and Caffey. That is a good tough weekend.

I just hope everybody on all three teams can and do go.

Don’t sleep on Cohlton Schultz at 285 either. I think Kerk handles him now, but until he actually beats him on the mat, Schultz remains a ?

I’m not worried about Dean vs. Caffey. Caffey is funky, but I think Dean’s gas tank is the difference. Caffey tends to wear down as the match goes on. Plus there’s the transitive property 😊with Beard beating him at the Scuffle. Brucki is the bigger challenge from what I’ve seen.

The good news for us fans is that there’s lots of great wrestling ahead.

Only way Caffey beats dean is if deannis sick or gets caught. Caffey doesn’t have a go to shot. Dean will love on his legs. Only way Caffey scores is if they get in some crazy scramble

I am picking Berge to beat Amine, to give PS a 6-4 win margin.A healthy Kerklivet could also surprise us. Should be a great match.

This is definitely a toss up match especially if Berge is on weight decent down to 157. Both Amines are very tough and you gotta match their will to win. Big hearts. Should be exciting

Who has given any indication that Berge is going down to 157?

Not sure Sonny. See him listed at both weights. Cael knows we’re much better in a tournament setting with Berge at 157. 165 is loaded this year. Will see.

Minus any last minute scratches, 18-15 Penn State. I don’t think any matches end in bonus points.

If no bonus points that’s 30 total points. how could we have 18-15?
All criteria are tied as well, so it goes the 117th criteria item, which is match between head coaches. We all know how that goes. Can you say 160-0?

Can’t sleep on MSU. I saw the clip of Caffey pulling off a sweet merckle throw straight to back followed immediately by 4 more backs over Bulsak, no slouch.

Re-watched the Michigan match - C Star got a couple of crap calls in that match. The first was the ref calling stalemate right as C Star was moving on top and breaking his foot free. Would surely have been a TD. Then, the reversal on the Massa escape followed by immediate C Star TD. It was an escape followed by a TD. That the call was reversed was entirely befuddling. Not only to me but to Ironhead and the Big10 announcers, who def leaned Michigan.

Moving forward as Cael would say I hope we don’t have any let down against Michigan State tomorrow. Gotta maintain the FIRE with bigger and better matches coming up. Iowa will be the true test to see if we’re ready for the Big Ten tournament at Nebraska. Hope everyone got their tickets. We need to sale out the PSU section big time. Nationals will be even better. Exciting time in life not to miss out on.

Totally agree on both points. The ref calls the escape, and CStar gets penalized for smartly attacking the second he hears it. Absolutely ridiculous. It was an escape. It was that simple. It got called and then CStar attacked.

And the stalemate made no sense either. He was just about to kick out. Could he really not see that it was NOT yet a stalemate?
