Correct. Ditching them myself tomorrow. Should have cut the cable long ago but they are forcing it now. Been cutting channels like crazy. They had removed about 10 channels like AMC, FXM, BBC and others prior to the ESPN removal which was unannounced. When I called I was told they are an internet company, not a cable company. I told them good luck with that. Sux as they used to be a great service company. Ohio people could screw any good thing up

Feel like this is going to be more and more common with cable companies now that ESPN DTC is live. ESPN doesn’t need cable companies anymore, cable companies need ESPN, and so Mickey Mouse is going to charge cable companies huge prices to keep airing their stuff, I’m sure.

17 'em. I had their shatty internet service for about 6 years. There were very few days it ever stayed on 24 hours without blacking out and resetting, sometimes only minutes, sometimes hours. Every morning at 6:35 you could set your watch, their service was going to go out for about 5 minutes and come back on by itself. I called numerous times and they could never figure it out. They were my only choice so I was stuck w/ them.

I signed up for 4 County Fastnet way before it was even available and got on the wait list. The moment they told me it was available I immediately gave Maxxsuck a call and told them adios. They asked me why I was leaving, told them I was not getting Fiber speeds and more data/month for less money than their shatty digital internet. They said well we have that too. WHAAAAAT? Why haven't you told me that. They were making me a heck of a deal to keep them but I told them to pound sand w/ Joe Moorhead and hit the road like him.

Just want to point out that the only cable company in an SEC city does not offer ESPN.

That's so absurd that its unbelievable.

Cable companies won't exist in the next 10-15 years. They'll all just become ISPs or they'll go away completely. Also, Starlink and its future competitors are going to kill the satellite carriers too. Everything is going to streaming.

Thank goodness we finally got some much needed infrasture upgrades to help us rural people out. We got internet service out of 4 county a couple years ago but we didn't get it in Union county until last year.

The initial infrastructure bill funded rural power companies to provide internet but failed to include places like New Albany Power and Light which serves rural Union county but was owned by the city of New Albany which was not funded in the first Bill. We feel through the cracks.

I could not even get cable in Rural Webster or Union counties, too far off the beaten path. I was using some cell phone tower thingys that sucked and weren't cheap.

Cut the cord to cable is happening everywhere and no one is returning. They are dying just like old washed up restaurant chains that have bad management and terrible service.

Get internet and pick you service provider as you see fit. I use YouTubeTV for now but they keep going up. I may be switching soon.

ESPN definitely still wants cable subs. They get paid for their services by people who don’t want their services.

I'm sort of the opposite. If I'm running a cable or streaming service, now that ESPN is offering a DTC model, I'm dropping ESPN and cutting prices. The ones that want ESPN can get it from ESPN, and you can focus on the customers that want cable other than ESPN. That's certainly going to cost some customers, but if you are already going to lose the customer that only care about ESPN to its DTC model, I'm not sure how you justify the ESPN costs.
