Exactly.Lets be honest. I say this with complete honesty. There is not a single team in college basketball that would have beaten, or even hung close, to Auburn last night. We had players in position several times and they just threw the ball up and it went in. Every single stat for Auburn that involved shooting was over 60%. There is no defense for that. We will be ok as long as Paris makes sure the team doesnt carry this beatdown into LSU game. Auburn clearly didnt let Floridas beatdown of them carry over to the game against us, they actually used it to refocus and play insane ball. No need to hold this loss against Paris at all. It just was what it was.
A lot depends on the interest. If the OSU interest is real, you can't afford to lose him. Can you imagine him going to OSU turning them into a national power bc we didn't want to give him a full contract? Yeah, good luck on the next hire with that strategy. It's all about supply and demand.I wasn't on the "back-the-truck-up" train before last night, so it doesn't change anything for me. After the season, you have a sit-down with CLP. He's probably earned some recognition compensation-wise, but there's no need to go full-contract-muschamp again. Just as one game doesn't define his tenure/capability, neither does one season - good or bad. We will lose a LOT off of this years team. CLP is going to have a big coaching job to do again next year. If he follows up this season with a very good to solid season next year, IMO, then it's time to start looking to really invest in keeping him long-term. Of course, I'm no AD, even though I did stay at a Holliday Inn last night, so what I think doesn't matter much.
So... back on track? We've lost by 40 before. Just last year in fact.
He has a point, though. If this thing were all that solid, we wouldn't lose to anyone by 40 - anytime, anyplace. Look, he has make significant progress, but respectability and relevance have not been indisputably established so as to be a fait accompli. Hopefully next season will validate. Perhaps the remainder of THIS season will indicate. Last night, the forlorn little lost puppy didn't make it across the first lane of I-85.Another knee jerk poster!
Bama says Hi.lol. This one game doesn’t change anything.
What's your point? We're still #2 in the SEC tied with AU. Go .500 in remaining 6 games to finish 12-6 and we're a lock.Bama says Hi.
I'm not sure anyone is actually doing that, but "the body of work this season" is still being built. Its true that no matter what happens over the next 6 games, this season has far exceeded everyone's expectations. But it's also true that the complete story of this season has not been written and that story can vary A LOT depending on how the next 6 six chapters play out.The morons are out today. Losing by 40 stinks and shouldn’t happen. But to let this one game overshadow the body of work this season is absolutely stupid. Stuff happens.
Yea, and we lost to UGA at home as you have reminded us 10 times. He has a point, though. If this thing were all that solid, we wouldn't lose to anyone by 40 - anytime, anyplace. Amazing job? He lost to UGA at home.Again, this team doesn’t have a star who can take over a game. They are solid players and CMB will likely be a star. Paris has done an amazing job with this team. We were predicted to be LAST in the SEC. The sky is not falling. Paris seems to be recruiting well and his system is solid. If he can do what he’s doing this year with guys who never played together before, think what he could do with a roster full of his players and just one or two transfers. Saying that, he with need transfers again next year. What he’s done this year is nothing less than amazing. Oh, and by the way , most people say the SEC is the strongest league this year.
It's therapy for me. Thank you!Yea, and we lost to UGA at home as you have reminded us 10 times.
When the opposing team shoots 61% FG 60% 3PT and 90% FT it's going to be one of those nights where you are going to lose and lose big unless you can match those numbers. It happens to the best on occasion. Just don't want it to be a regular occurrence. If you follow College Basketball closely, you know that Auburn is probably one of the Top 5 toughest road trips in the country right now. I haven't seen a team go in there and come close in awhile. Most teams get blown out by 20+. I wasn't expecting a 40 point loss, but I was bracing for a reality check especially after Auburn's loss on Saturday. This is a game where you lose the tape, refocus, and move forward.
But, but, but... Paris is not the real deal. Losing to UGA at home and very big to Auburn on the road is inexcusable, regardless of the circumstances. When the opposing team shoots 61% FG 60% 3PT and 90% FT it's going to be one of those nights where you are going to lose and lose big unless you can match those numbers. I've used that sarcastic approach myself. But you certainly don't believe that, as of right now, TODAY, Paris has proven himself to be our generational coach without any shred of a doubt, do you? But, but, but... Paris is not the real deal. It’s not knee jerk - winning 20 freaking games doesn’t make him the next coming of Dean Smith or Coach K -Another knee jerk poster!
Bitching and moaning about one bad loss doesn't make you Stephen A Smith. It’s not knee jerk - winning 20 freaking games doesn’t make him the next coming of Dean Smith or Coach K -

When #13 beats #11 by 40, well, something is askew.
As far as a ‘star’, after it was obvious our routine offense wasn’t going to work early in the second half, I would have just called a timeout and told Meechie and Collin to just score as many points as they can and quick, nonstop. Cut them loose.

We've had the piss beaten out of us by the 2 teams in Alabama. That was the sole point of the post. What's your point? We're still #2 in the SEC tied with AU. Go .500 in remaining 6 games to finish 12-6 and we're a lock.
