It's a brutal whoopin right now. Coming back from 20+ down, not likely.

Well, that didn't go well. Glad I haven't been able to watch.
If we don't jump on them early in the 2nd half were done, then just focus on improving parts of our game.

Reminiscent of the Alabama game in Tuscaloosa, only this game unraveled more quickly. This was a norming game where shortcomings were brought to the fore.

Guess the common denominator is we can't play with fast physical teams.
Didn't play our game. We play a much more methodical offensive game which they were well aware of, and they forced us into a running game.

Hopefully Auburn didn’t lay out the gameplan against this Defense. My goodness. 100+ on the top D in the conference is pretty impressive.

Gotta bounce back fast. Can’t let the end of this streak and this game cost us 2. We’ll be ready Saturday. Auburn just got blown out by Florida on the road. These things happen.

In true Gamecock fashion we set a all time record of getting our butt kicked in Auburns arena. Biggest loss by a top 20 team.

You have to forget that game and not even discuss it. Prepare for the next one.

Not going to beat anybody who shoots 60% FG and 60% 3 Pt.
Auburn is on fire.
They definitely came out with ants in their pants and we were a step slow; such is life as the hunted and has been for the 55 years I’ve followed college bb. When the shots are falling like that it’s just their game that night; you can either panic or move on.

We played our worst game of the year on O and D. AU played their best game of the year. Whenever that happens against a really good team it’s going to be ugly.

Losing this game is not going to kill us. But how we react to it will tell the story of our future for the season.
Sure am glad I didn't take the points and bet on our D to keep it close. lol

Agree. Not a surprise that we lost on the road to AU. The way we lost was a little surprising. But folks will be watching this weekend. Handle LSU and all is well. But if we drop that one, it will raise questions.

Yeah their shots were falling, but we were missing layups left and right. What explains missing so many normally high percentage shots?

The pollsters won't forget.
They will as long as we don't let that game beat us twice. It's bball. Crap happens. Doesn't matter if we lost by 20 or 40. It's a road L to what's likely to be a 2 seed in the dance. Pollsters will be paying attention to how we respond more than anything.

Same thing that explains draining 61% of low percentage shots; Jerry Reed. They put a run on us (I didn’t particularly care for the timing of our substitutions last night ) and we got a wee tight which produces misses like those. It happens; we aren’t the 80’s Celtics.

Auburn was on fire, more on fire than we were when we beat UK. Someone earlier said it points out our weakness against faster, athletic teams and that’s true. If we can control the pace in those games, we have a chance. If that team is shooting 60% and draining 3’s, we ain’t winning. On the good side, there aren’t too many teams built like Auburn. This was the kind of game where you need a Thornwell type player who can dominate both ends of the court. Still, this team can learn and improve. Being brought back to earth could, could I say be a good thing.

Care much more about the NCAA Selection Committee than a pollster. Pollsters are similar to political opinion polls. Cool to look at, but don't mean much.

Agree. The committee is going to look at the resume. It's going to show a Q1 loss. That's it. We were never going to finish higher than the 40s anyway in the net.
