Thoughts? Two takeaways I have: 1) will see subs earlier in games and during season so backups are better prepared. 2) Keon Wylie moved to MLB for depth.

At first thought, moving Wylie to MLB seems like as dumb a move as moving Micah there through the winter and spring of his freshman year. Wonder what’s up with Abdul Carter?

I think we have actually subbed too much at certain positions during games. Like last year in Michigan game, Kalen King was in during that long Td pass and run.

Carter is competing with Buddin to be backup at Will

me too but down at the All-American game he took well to coaching for linebacker and did well in space tackling during the game...he might just be a natural at the position...that said i would have bet my house he would only ever be an undersized pass-rushing DE or OLB, not a MLB

Won’t be a bad thing to get a backup QB some meaningful snaps just in case. Iowa was embarrassing last year.

I wonder if Carter is playing well enough that they would love to have him at Will and let Jacobs play Sam against the better rushing offenses, a la Auburn, Michigan and Minnesota?

Jacobs can go back to the box on 4-2-5 looks.

Then again, maybe they think Wylie is the future Mike and this is just for redshirt purposes aka bulk him up and teach the spot.
