....since they rooked me out of $15 last year for a book nearly completely devoid of historical information, I refuse to pay for the same this year. I'll pick one up eventually on eBay on the cheap.

....I've picked up a complete run from 1991-1999 off eBay (with a couple exceptions thanks to DawgatAuburn), and I bet I didn't pay more than ten bucks for any of them. Ten dollars is the most I'm willing to pay, and when they jacked it up to 15 last year and removed all the stats and record book information, I said I ain't paying it anymore.

...responsible for the reduction in size of media guides? I forget, but it seems like they passed some sort of rule in attempt to help out the smaller schools.

</p>Yep, the NC<17>AA is why the media guides aren't what they used to be. Seems they put a limitation of N pages it can be, I just don't rememeber how many N is.

...though I think the NCAA rule limiting them to 208 pages hit in about 2005. The 2005 and 2006 media guides were just streamlined versions of what we had before. What changed last year is that they made it less of an actual media guide and more of a recruiting pamphlet. Since they can only issue one bound publication, now they put all the information that would have been in an older media guide on loose-leaf and hand it out to the media.

There's a PDF of the real media guide and record book on the website in the media guides section. It's way more useful than the fluffy overproduced 208-page official one.
