It’s the way of college sports. Don’t get too close to any player because most of the time they are going to leave. Dawn keeps them well but not many else. Meechie was good for Lamont’s system and this system was good for Meechie but young people don’t see those things. Good luck to him but don’t expect a lot of fond farewells because no true commitment means fans won’t care anymore.

I'm a little surprised with how highly he spoke of Paris his entire time here, however I don't think it's a huge blow to the roster with exception to leadership.

He would've spent 3 years in the program, and that bodes well for continuity and building the program.

Also won’t he have to sit out since second transfer? I thought you only got one time no sit? Stupid decision if so but all this Covid year and transfer stuff is so confusing.

The NCAA was sued about multiple transfers late in '23, and now none of those rules apply. You can transfer as much as you want.

I know there is no portal loss that we cannot explain away. However, I am surprised because of the vibe from this team being that it was a group of guys who really cared about each other and really bought into the team concept. It really seemed like Paris built a group of team first guys. But I guess that reality simply does not exist anymore.

OK, pick one
1. He owes somebody a lot of money
2. He's in trouble with the law
3. His girlfriend is pregnant
4. It's too hot in Columbia

Like I have said many times over the past couple of years, putting together a team is a year to year proposition. The 2023-24 and what you feel about them needs to be laid to rest. Coach Paris now has the job of putting together the 2024-25 team and we will see where that team goes.

Probably heads back up to the midwest. But, he'll be replaced with another 14+ ppg scorer from another school who is surprised their 14 ppg scorer is entering the portal.
It’s not just about finding 14 points in the portal, though. This team played way above their collective talent level. It’s about finding players who fit into the system. Paris put the team together so I hope he can do it again, but there are no guarantees.

No….it’s about replacing Giambi and Damon. You’re not even looking at the problem.😂

Blah blah blah. Just leave already!! If you liked everything so freaking much then why in the hell didn’t you stay! Don’t let the door hit you in the *** on the way out!!
What is up with these guys that they can’t stay in one place more than a year or two? How will they ever hold a job?

I used to love to go into 5 and 10 cent stores when I was a child. The best one ever was in the small Allendale County town of Fairfax. It was next to the theater and a block away from our doctor's office. It had wooden floors, and 1,000s of useless cheap junk on shelves with glass separations. We would spend hours in there at times waiting on others' doctor visits or before or after a movie. I wish there were still dime stores, and pharmacies with a soda and ice cream fountain bars. I've got some school bus ride home stories about them, too.

There was a video on Twitter, can’t find it now, after the game against Oregon and Meechie was being interviewed about the team for next year, and he said we would probably have to pick up a player or two from the portal.

Yep, job hopping is never a good habit.

I hesitate to say "never". I have watched people job hop internally, and increase their salary quite a bit. The company doesn't seem to mind, and these people get several steps ahead.

I've also seen a guy get a promotion by leaving and coming back 2 years later.

All this is anecdotal, I know. But its often discussed with coworkers. It appears to work for a lot of people.

I always liked being an expert in my position, so I tend to stay longer. But companies spend more on recruiting than retention, so staying put doesn't make sense monetarily.
