Yeah they did that last year when we played there. It's an interesting atmospherePretty sure I just picked up a “Whoop that trick” chant from the crowd
They also had a pregame wrestling match in Tiger Lane, their tailgating area.Pretty sure I just picked up a “Whoop that trick” chant from the crowd
They are copying it from the Grizzlies. They do it to begin the 4th quarter of home games.Pretty sure I just picked up a “Whoop that trick” chant from the crowd
I went to my first Grizzlies game last year in the playoffs against the Warriors. I've got to say, it's going to be hard to beat that atmosphere. It was just really fun and uniquely Memphis. They are copying it from the Grizzlies. They do it to begin the 4th quarter of home games.
Dubmass Question Alert. If it's the Memphis game y'all are talking about, how can they steal from themselves? They are copying it from the Grizzlies. They do it to begin the 4th quarter of home games.
The University of Memphis (née Memphis State) Tigers college football team. They were playing the Tulsa Golden Showers last night on television.Dubmass Question Alert. If it's the Memphis game y'all are talking about, how can they steal from themselves?
I mean 'Hustle & Flow' took place in Memphis and that song was written by Al Kapone, so it's on brand for any Memphis team to use it."Whoop that trick" is their anthem.
No sarcasterics.
I think it was on Chris Vernon’s radio show a couple of years ago he was talking to the Houston Rockets beat writers and they were amazed (and a little shocked) at what music was played at Grizzlies games. Said Houston’s in game music/atmosphere was very pedestrian compared to the Grizzlies.I went to my first Grizzlies game last year in the playoffs against the Warriors. I went to a playoff game in SLC the year before. The contrast between the two was stark.
