I’ve got UCONN winning but SDSU covering the 7. Will be interesting if Aztecs keep it close cuz they’re 10-1 in games decided by 5 or less while UCONN is 0-4. Defense travels and SDSU has the ability to make it tough but I think UCONN has too many weapons.

A former student-athlete, now an astronaut, singing the national anthem at the men’s national championship game on national TV.

Then there’s me. 😞

Good start for the SDSU offense. I feel like if they can shoot 45% or better, they'll have a great chance to win.

And SDSU hits one of their patented droughts. But if you're gonna do that, better that it happens this early and UCONN hasn't gone on a run.

I still can’t get over FAU blowing the game, that was a disastrous last five minutes for FAU.

I watched the 2nd half of the game at a bar/restaurant in West Palm Beach, FL. FAU's campus isn't that far from there, so the crowd was overwhelmingly, and quite vocal, in their backing of FAU. They loved all the things FAU did, and were ecstatic after the reverse layup in the last minute of the game. And they were in absolute disbelief at the ending of the game.

SDSU has made some runs in the 2nd half, and cut the lead to under 10 points a few times, but I think 6 is the closest they've gotten to UCONN. And with 2:08 left in the game, UCONN is back up over 10 points, 69-55.

SDSU got within five in the second half, but UConn quickly pulled away. SDSU was never really in it tonight. UConn is too big and too good.

Maybe if PSU were in an urban basketball hotbed like Storrs, they’d have a good basketball program.

The announcers were saying UConn wasn’t anything before 1990. Finally made it to the final four late 90’s and have won 5 since 1999. So why can’t we do that. We need a coach first that has success and then stays here and builds something. As he builds nil and money flows in for the program with it.

HUGE NO CALL by the Zebras with about 3-4 minutes left to play. SDSU down 8, misses the first of a 1&1. BUT UConn lined up on the free throw with one of the two underneath guys having half his foot in the lane, he never moved it and the underneath Zebra never looked and saw it. SDSU should have been given the free throw again, MIGHT have cut it to 6.

Coach Jim Calhoun put the program on the map. Their 5 wins since 1999 is the most in that time period. More dominant than UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas during that period. Very impressive.

Calhoun has a complicated legacy. Recruiting violations, sexual misconduct of players, laptop gate, academic issues. Not sure we want to emulate UConn.

Fittingly, Jim Calhoun Way runs through the UConn campus. Meanwhile, JoePa is practically invisible at PSU.

F*ck us.
It appears that university leadership (especially the alumni elected trustees) are even more

With all that is boiling to the surface it appears PSU is even more dysfunctional than anyone could have imagined.

He built something that others kept up since as they won champs as well. We need someone to build us up.

We will all look back at barren and Sandy as PSU’s golden age. They had this.

UConn had one coach between Calhoun and Hurley, Kevin Ollie. Ollie did win one NCAA championship, but he ran his program with a similar disdain for rules as Calhoun. After he was fired and sanctioned for rules violations his excuse was that he wasn't any worse than his predecessor. That's true, LOL.

This was a good NCAA tourney - new programs making a name for themselves. More than a few close games, including the semi finals on Saturday.

Not sure FAU would have fared any better against UConn.

I knew the moment UCONN went back to the Big East they were going to be a force. I like Villanova but unless the rules change UCONN will dominate that conference. In the end, the school saved it basketball program by sacrificing its football program which was the right move. I think this is four NC for the UCONN huskies.

“Unless the rules change,” could you elaborate? I’m not getting your point.

UConn sacrificed nothing by moving to the Big East. It's football program was roadkill and will always be roadkill. Rentschler Field on gameday is desolate. Last year they were offering two free tickets to either men's or women's basketball games to people who purchased tickets to certain football games. lest you think it was much of an inducement, the BB games were limited to those scheduled in November. The men played Stonehill, Buffalo, and Delaware St. The women, Kutztown and NC State. Still, probably better than a free beverage.

It can’t help that the football stadium is nowhere near campus.

“Gov. Ned Lamont, who traveled to Houston and was on hand Monday night to watch the University of Connecticut men's basketball team win its fifth NCAA tournament championship, talked about his visit earlier this week on WPLR-FM's "Chaz and AJ" show.

"After winning the semifinals, you walk around downtown Houston, which is butt-ugly," the Democrat said. "Not much there."”

He also tried to apologize, but I don’t think anyone is buying it.
