He has the passion to get this baseball team going. Let's hope our pitching will improve.
The pitching has been fine. Of our 9 weekend starts, 8 of them have been great.

Fri (Dohm) 4IP 1ER 2BB 4K
Sat (Stephens) 7IP 1ER 0BB 11K
Sun (Loo) 4IP 1ER 2BB 8K
Fri (Dohm) 6IP 0ER 1BB 10K
Sat (Stephens) 2.1IP 7ER 1BB 3K
Sun (Loo) 5IP 1ER 2BB 7K
Thurs (Dohm) 7IP 1ER 0BB 8K
Sat1 (Stephens) 6IP 0ER 1BB 9K
Sat2 (Loo) 6.2IP 0ER 4BB 10SO

Outside of that one awful start by Stephens, the starters have been excellent. Lots of Ks, very few walks and few earned runs:

In Stephen's bad that game vs Georgia Southern, we gave up 11 total runs. In the other games we've given up 4,3,2,1,2,2,2,0.
It's kind of hard to be upset with those numbers.

What's been hurting us is the offense. We've had several guys start slow. The power numbers are completely absent sans DJ. And we havent been getting many clutch hits, especially out of the middle of the order.

Positives I saw this weekend:
  • Hujsak seems to be hitting better.
  • Mershon looks to have made a nice leap.
  • Cupp has been a little better.

Negatives:
  • Chance isnt hitting well enough to keep his spot in LF
  • Schuelke has been surrendering hits in bunches his past few outings.
  • Hines, Hujsak & Kohler were 3 guys I expected to have double digit HRs this season. They have combined for ZERO thru 12 games.
  • It'd be nice if someone could step up and become "the" mid-week starter.
  • Our base running is embarrassing.

Until we face teams that can actually hit. It’s impossible to know how good our pitching is. We are basically attacking the zone with no fear of a ball landing at the Sanderson. That’s an easy way to pitch. sec hitters can hit 92 down the middle. We throw a lot of those right now.

im not sold,on chance or hujsak. chance Is a zero power left fielder who we are trying to hit 5th. Hujsak has never shown success at the sec level. Neither should be penned into any lineup daily.

also where is highfill? Catchers spot is below average without him, and going to hurt when our 8-9 hitters are that bad offensively. Can carry 1 bad hitter, hard to carry 2.

I’m more concerned about the bats than pitching. And I think pitching will be only average at best. We’re not exactly hitting the cover off the ball against terrible pitching.
