Met Brent Pry yesterday…

Was at Virginia Tech for their spring game on Saturday (gf’s son is a senior there). Saturday was also the 15th anniversary of the shooting and gf’s son was running in a 5K Remembrance Run. We went to the finish line and Brent Pry was there with several football players congratulating the runners as they crossed the finish line. I was wearing a Penn State shirt, which Pry noticed. He pointed to me and said “love the shirt!”. I walked over to him and we chatted for a minute, I wished him luck and much success at VT.

I talked to a few VT alums later and was told that Pry is doing all of the right things so far, is very engaged with the community, etc. A welcome change from Fuentes is what I heard.

I wish him luck Brent was a good guy and good coach hope the best for him

I seriously doubt VT has the same caliber of internet coaches as PSU does. That’s gonna hurt him down there.

I heard a replay of a Brent pry interview on college sports radio. I tend to root for everyone with Penn State connections, but I think I’m being objective when I say that I think Pry can be successful at VT. Not have elite teams that compete for national titles, but great defenses that compete for their division of the ACC. I’ll be rooting for him/them.

He is very VTechish and will do really well if he stays engaged with the fan base. They are very loyal.

A 2022-2024 match up between VaTech and PSU would be entertaining.

My $$$ would be on Pry and the Hokies.
