Miami lost 2 of last 3, both unranked, and they’re ahead of us

Saw a Michigan fan on another site point this out. Miami lost 2 of their last 3 and both were unranked. SC went 3-0, 2 vs top 20 teams. Yet Miami is still ahead of us.

This committee is an absolute joke. That Michigan fan was also wondering how 2-loss Ohio State loses at home to an unranked 6-5 team and STILL only drops to 6 and gets a home playoff game.

Message is clear. We need to stop playing tough out of conference games. Play scrubs like the B10 does. Why opem 2025 w Va Tech??? Drop em and open with Ga State or UNC Charlotte
Calling VA Tech a tough opening game is wild. You beat Clemson and still can’t even get in the playoffs.

No ranked wins for Miami either. And they were gifted a win against Virginia Tech that was probably a bigger screw job than us against LSU. It was literally a call that had it not been screwed up the game was over and Tech wins.

But don’t think for a second we now know the committee’s criteria. If we didn’t play a tough schedule, it would ABSOLUTELY be used against us if possible. Only way to get in is to give them no choice.

I’ll quote myself from earlier today, “I don’t know what the committee’s job is. They don’t either.”
There is no criteria other than automatic bids for P4 and 1 Go5. Btw calling the ACC and Big 12 power conferences is laughable. Automatic bids are stupid. I can’t say it enough.

Simple answer and it's nothing new: They're on the Sacred Cow list. Jerry Tarkanian knew this and was persecuted by the NCAA for having the nerve to say it out loud: "The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they gave Cleveland State 2 more years of probation."

Oh, the committee definitely knows what their job is; they'll just never publicly admit what that job is.
But observe them long enough and it becomes obvious.

Right? Their job is very obvious. But they believe you are stupid enough to just sit and take their idiotic talking points. I’ve said it a couple times already and I’ll say it again. Being left out of the playoff doesn’t make me angry. The committee treating us as if we’re idiots and can’t see what they’re doing makes me angry.

Not in necessarily. We’d be playing in the SECCG this Saturday. If we lost that, I doubt they would’ve put us in.

Yep. Never expected to get in, especially over Alabama. But 14? That was a slap in the face. And the fact there are major inconsistencies in their determination of the rankings?!?! I have no hope in this committee going forward.

Very reminiscent of politicians, no?

Bama was boat raced by 2-6 OU two weeks ago, and that made little difference to the committee.

Wonder how many committee members actually watched our game against Clemson? If the truth be known they were probably watching Ohio St and Michigan

Let’s just play a bad team in a warm city for our bowl, win our 10th game, and hit the portal hard like last year. We should have a much better chance next year. A bowl loss with opt outs would not be a great way to end the season.

Wait so you would not watch that because why again?
I didn’t say that. I would watch the gamecocks if they were playing tiddlywinks. I assumed your point was we would want to play Miami to show them we deserved to be ahead of them but I’m just saying it’s not apples to apples any longer. I just know I don’t wanna play someone like Illinois or Iowa cause that would be boring as hell

You read too much into my post. I am not interested in sending any kind of message to the committee. They can invite who they want to their invitational. I am convince they dont care. I just think it would be interesting to play another team that was on the bubble... one of the "best" teams left that's not an SEC team. I too feel the same way about watching a game of tiddlywinks and that's exactly why I would be watching even if all the starters stayed home. I would just hope Miami has the same problem and it''s all relative. Plus I could get up for that game. We have some history.

I am sure most teams in regular ball games are going to have the same problem with opt outs.

Who was our tough ooc game this year? Va. Tech isn't a tough ooc game either, they are an average weak as water ACC team.

Toughest OOC?

That would be the Urnj scourge we just busted in the mouth.

The other 3 are a step below the AAC (if you can believe that).

So, you're trading something like an FCS school for VT on the shcedule. So, 2 AAC schools next year.
