Yep. I think the staff knew for a while he was a ND lock, so I don't feel too spurned here. I'm really not sure how much of a priority he was for us. Coaches can tell when a recruit really isn't all that interested. You have limited resources, so you gotta put them towards recruits you know you still have a shot with.

If the coach walks into a living room and the family makes it clear another school is his/her favorite, it seems to me the prospect is doing the minimization and doing the coach a favor.
You have missed my point. The minimizations I was talking about relate to how fans rationalize our not getting a player. As I said, in this instance, I agree with the coach's stance.
