Oklahoma offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby was named head coach at Mississippi State on Sunday, the school announced, taking over the Bulldogs two days after he and the Sooners ended their regular season with a resounding 69-45 victory over TCU.

Good hire. If you are not going to hire a proven Head Coach, going with a proven Offensive Coordinator, in this day and age where the rules are tilted in favor of the offense, is the way to go.

Yep. He has a solid 5-year track record as an OC at 3 different programs (UCF, Ole Miss, OU). Their previous 2 HCs were also offensive guys so this is in keeping with that philosophy.
