Good Lord I thought Alabama offered everyone. They have offered twice as many players as we have. I guess that's their strategy, so when alot of players don't have any other options, Mississippi takes them, hence the over signing they had last year.

http://olemiss.rivals.com/offerlist.asp?sport=1&school=47&year=2010 Who Mississippi has offered

http://mississippistate.rivals.com/offerlist.asp?sport=1&school=48&year=2010 Who Mississippi State has offered</p>

</p>

Notice the big targets Ole Miss offers. I honestly think it's just an attempt to get their name out there.

Jeez look at how many they offered for next year. About twice as much. At least we actually have some committments for next year. Some damn good ones too. They have zero.

I'm not obsessed with Mississippi either, just honestly thought its absurd how many people they offer.

Yeah that's what I thought. So does Nutt have some connections in Florida or something? It seems yall offer every Florida kid.

you have to take into account those that cannot swim well, get caught in the current and fishing nets, and what not.

Once Nutt fills the boat with all of the recruits swimming his way he moves on.

In all seriousness, hasn't this always been the way Nutt went about recruiting? I thought he had always offered many more than he could accept and dealt with it, if it became a problem or if he had too many kids.

Chris Vaughn is our recruiting guy for Florida, and I want to say we may have added Terry Price to a part of Florida as well. I think we signed something like 9 players from Florida in our last class, and we tied Michigan for the most Top 100 Florida signees by a team not named Miami, FSU, or Florida.

That's one thing I definitely think Nutt is doing right, focusing really hard on Florida recruiting. The scraps from the table in Florida are often as good as anything you'll find anywhere else in the South.

msu's perhaps mullen will learn. it would be interesting to know the real total offers extended by schools. it may seem like ole miss offers more than state cause our recruits actually mention our offers rather than throwing them in the "don't bother me" pile. LOL. seriously though the way recruiting is shaping up at this point for feb, you may not want to be making comments that could be repeated back accompanied by raucous laughter.

This is how Mississippi fans feel justified by saying anyone they didn't get was "at least 4th or 5th" on the mysterious list - their list is just like a million people long.

Agree, I don't care about the rankings, but I do feel like you can get a load of talent in Florida that doesn't even get a look from the major programs in the state, and I'm glad we're going to that state as our top focus for out of state recruiting.

MSU's class was rated very similar to Mississippi's. Scout had ours higher, Rivals had Mississippi's a little higher, ESPN had us 23 and yall 22. There really is no difference. The top 5 classes are really separated from the rest of the country. 6-15 are exceptional and 16-30 are all about the same in my opinion.

Nutt is certainly not out recruiting Mullen. I have no clue what gave you that idea. And we saw how good those Florida boys played in the egg bowl. I promise you, if Nutt doesn't start recruiting MS more, there will be more *** beatings like this last one. The days of Croom are over. Sorry, pal.

We do have some Florida players and recruit Florida a little bit. We just don't go in and try to clean house like you guys do. You guys seem to think, just because they are from Florida and they are a 3 star, they have to be superb to the rest of the 3 stars in the country. Also, with those Florida boys, alot of trouble comes with them. Alot of them are thugs and trouble makers. I think you're team speaks for itself in this department. Exception for McCluster. I think he's a good guy.

I'll help you and others. Below are the party lines:

If your coach is offering a lot of players, it's because he's just outworking the other staffs and finding more talent.
If an opposing coach is offering a lot of players, it's because he can't land anyone and has to send out a load of offers to get commitments.

If your coach isn't offering a lot of players, he's being selective and only offering the best available.
If an opposing coach isn't offering a lot of players, it's because he's a lazy recruiter.

You'll need to remember these in the future.

ole miss clearly had much more talent. mullen did a good job...the good news is one game doesn't a career make. i do think mullen is looking like a good hire for you guys. time will tell but so far he improved the team greatly.

Cameron Newton is from Atlanta, GA. Georgia is located North of the state of Florida, or right above Florida on a U.S. map.

I was also just pushing some buttons since yall have had alot of Florida kids in your recruiting class last year, but the previous few years there aren't that many. I'm just saying alot of Florida kids are thugs in general. Its a common perception. Obviously not all are but alot of them are. If you don't believe me you should watch "The U" on ESPN, look at what's going on at Florida State, and all the other trouble the Gator players get into. Alot of Florida players just have football. It keeps them off the streets. Basically they are all thugs. You're team is full of them.

Please elaborate. We had 9 Florida signees in our last class. One of them later signed with FAMU after signing day because he wasn't going to make grades. Another one took a grayshirt. One went to prep school and is supposed to re-sign this year. The other 6 reported to campus. Of those 6, only one of them played this year. The other 5 were able to redshirt because they were playing behind veterans. You won't see the impact of those players for a few years, like most freshmen.

So far, none of the 7 (including the grayshirt) that reported to campus, have had any trouble off the field. Nice job stereotyping Florida players as thugs though. That's about as intelligent as making a blanket statement that Mississippi kids are stupid and can't get into school.

There is a reason so many schools try to go into Florida for players. Just curious, who were the thugs on our team this past year since apparently our team speaks for itself in the thuggish department according to you? If you're going to make a statement like that, be prepared to back it up.

Ah....taking us all back to the 2005 offseason.

Thanks for that. I had a great laugh.

Who would have guessed you would have jumped into this thread? Do you and bruiser have some kind of mechanism that notifies you everytime a thread about Ole Miss starts on 6pack or do you just live here?

You're either blinded by your own hatred or racist, can't figure out which.

At some point, you may actually realize that our players are the same as your players. They come from the same backgrounds. They come from similar neighborhoods, similar cultural up-bringings. In fact, a good number of them are good friends with each other because they run in the same circles. I'm assuming you think your team is a team full of thugs as well.
