Transportation and Parking at MSU is ran by total incompetents. Sucks that they screwed up graduation this badly, but I am not surprised.
Wow.I’m not insulting people with disabilities. I have empathy for anyone in NEED.
My point of my post is that there are quite a few people on this board who whine about every single thing they can. Nothing is ever done their way or the right way in their opinion.
id bet dollars to donuts that the original poster either A doesn’t have all the correct info or B left some critical info out or C which is part of A some low level dumb @$$ made a mistake
Sigh. Yep. But if they lock the entrance to the doors closest to said parking lot they are no longer on the shortest accessible route. You can’t leave it open for them to get in and then lock it when they try to get out.
It is also very likely that on the side away from the handicap parking spaces that there are areas that are not wheelchair accessible, thus making it beyond difficult to move.
My daughter is in a wheelchair. I deal with crap like this every day. Rest assured it is indeed a big deal and needs to be dealt with. And even if this met ADA standards (it doesn’t), then I would still be annoyed at state being a**holes to disabled people.
This is really a hill you want to die on???
Clarification: I (ThreeDawgNight) am @PhredPhantom's son, not @3dawgnight. I did not like @paindonthurt17's post.If I have misinterpreted the intent of your comment, I am sorry and ask you to please forgive me.
ADA Guidelines are, by definition, designed for those who need help with activities that many able-bodied people, including you, seem to take for granted.
My wife was a true MSU Sports fan. Her favorite sport was baseball and, as a MSU graduate, she loved them all. She battled cancer for ten years until we lost her in 2023. For the last three years of her life I had to help her (which really means do it for her) with everything she did - including getting dressed. As season ticket holders, we had Handicapped Parking passes because after she lost the ability to walk I had to transport her everywhere (and I mean everywhere - even within our house) using wheelchairs and bodily pick her up to move her from wheelchair to chair to bed, etc. She did not choose to have a debilitating and disabling disease that eventually took her life.
For you to insult her disability and the disability of others who need help is stupid beyond measure. You apparently lead an arrogant and ignorant existence. I sincerely hope you never have to need help like she did.
One Last thing I would like to add:
I was surprised when I saw that 3dawgnight “liked” your comment since this was his mother and he is my son. I do love my son very much and I am proud of him every day - I just didn’t understand him “like”ing your insensitive and ignorant comment.
I'm ThreeDawgNight, Dad. You're cleared hot to flame @3dawgnight.After having “cooled down” regarding the comments posted by paindonthurt17 earlier in this thread, I have come to realize that this public forum is not the place for me to air disagreements with my son, 3dawgnight, and for that I apologize to him. I was wrong to do it here and I shouldn’t have. I will try to have a cooler head and not do this again in the future. I guess I was “triggered” by the stupid comment made by paindonthurt17 and how his comment applied to my personal situation and to the loss of my wife after the long suffering and disability she endured. This is not an excuse for my mistake; just a reason.
I'm ThreeDawgNight, Dad. You're cleared hot to flame @3dawgnight.
My bad. Everything makes more sense now.Clarification: I (ThreeDawgNight) am @PhredPhantom's son, not @3dawgnight. I did not like @paindonthurt17's post.
I am the original ThreeDawgNight; accept no substitute.
Sorry to hear that.Roads were blocked off and we couldn't. They had carts at the parking lot but they weren't allowed to leave that parking lot to pick up people on the other side. Basically, MSU told everyone to get the 17 out of the Hump and then had no plan. They forgot about the handicapped people and didn't care about anyone. It was all about rushing us out of the Hump. I've never been to an event on campus where the people were treated so poorly.
My bad. Everything makes more sense now.
My son, ThreeDawgNight, is an honorable man and one of the smartest people I know. That’s why it surprised me when I thought he had liked paindonthurt17’s comments. He did not.
Carry on
