Some of these incoming recruits are putting up video game numbers. It will be interesting to see how fast they can adapt to the speed and physicality of the college game. I expect NJ recruiting to get even better and better as time goes on.

RU needs to hit the non-public schools hard and was good to hear staff was at a bunch of Delbarton and SHP games. HS all about competition so I’m skeptical of video game numbers, especially FOGOs and Goalies. The FOGO from South Jersey McCaffrey going to UVA has over 600 FO wins and went 91% this year with 50+ goals and boatload of assists playing against schools for the blind. He may end up as the Man at UVA but throw the HS numbers out the window.
RU just needs to hit NJ. The lack of NJ recruits for the NJ state college is disturbing. Tons of talent go elsewhere every year.

Our next two classes have some of the best players in NJ. Forget rankings, talk to coaches, though a bunch are four stars. They are the ones who see, coach and game plan against these kids. They know more than anyone.
We are close to being done, imo. I try not to ask too many questions about this stuff directly but an alum thread I’m on believes we are looking at a couple of guys for one more spot. The four guys we got all had B1G/Acc offers. It’s a top 5 portal class as is. Maybe top 3. My sense is we will go big on the next portal season and hs class. We will have more scholarship money and closer to what is needed on NIL/revenue share. Brian just needs the ammo. He’s proven he can win when even close to an even playing field.

Hope you are right because on paper the 2026 recruiting class is not good. Half of the class has zero stars on IL, which is by far the worst of any B1G team and the class is ranked (19) behind Villanova and Army. 2027 class is even worse according to overall rankings (22) but there are some studs that will push for playing time as freshman. Need a monster 2028 class to get the team back on track because the transfer portal game will be changing.
as Cali said, i wouldn't look too much at the stars. Mahoney is a monster from Chatham, had 31 points as an LSM. Jastrzebski just finished his senior season with 149 points. declan kurdyla with 90 points. those 3 are legit players with "no stars" on IL. they do have 2 top 100 players according to IL as well.
I hear all that there will be hidden gems in every class as IL prediction rate is not great. The 2027 class has some headliners especially the LE kids, but overall BB needs to do better. This 2028 class will be telling. If the 5-5 and transfer rules go through BB’s portal strategy takes a hit. Recruits are also paying closer attention to schools that build rosters with the portal and others that plug holes. Developing talent has to be the priority for long term success.
You seem to put way more faith in 2 guys in Baltimore one of whom never played lacrosse. Do you really think they are going to Bridgewater to see Declan Kurdyla play lol? Kid is a legit 6’4” 200 and can run. Anyone who knows will tell you he’s one of the top 3 midfielders in the state. No stars lol.
Jastrzebski is one of the most prolific scorers in NJ state history. I know you never played lacrosse so don’t understand what you are seeing but I’d tell you to watch the tape.

Speaking of, congrats to him.. Surely looking at First Team All State. He won't be the only one. We got two of the top 5 attackmen and arguably the best defenseman, along with one of the top midfielders in the state coming in.

Cali is right. I’ve seen Declan play for a couple of years in summer tournaments against top players in the country. Inside Lacrosse doesn’t know what they are looking at. They haven’t seen him play. If they did there is no way that he would be zero stars.
You seem to discount the fact that RU’s recruiting has been arguably terrible the last 5 years as they had one (yes one) top 20 recruiting class and it was 2026 @ 19. They have a total of 5 B1G wins since the great 2022 season. Poor recruiting directly correlates to their recent stretch of poor performance. But I am by no means saying there aren’t studs that get rated zero stars. However, when half of an entire recruiting class of a B1G team has zero stars that’s not a good thing even if IL’s prediction rate is mediocre at best. Let’s see what BB can do with the 2028 class. It’s critical with 5-5 coming because the transfer portal can’t save teams and recruiting/development will once again mean something.

Talk to his high school coach who happens to play in the PLL and is a Rutgers grad. You think he knows what he's seeing every day?
Mason Kelly is unrated. That kid will play early. He was just named First Team All State in Colorado. He is quick, two handed, creative, has size, and is very athletic. To not be rated tells me one thing. The two guys you hitch your wagon to haven't seen him play.

Appreciate your constant and unwavering support for RU lax, but at some point you have to use some objectivity. Would be great if all 6 of 13 recruits with zero stars turn out to be studs. But history has shown with the last 5 recruiting classes that the inability to recruit top 20 classes every year resulted in a total of 5 B1G wins over that time period.
i'm not so sure it's all the recruting's fault. at some point, the HC needs to take some heat for this. i'm not so sure BB should have been retained after last season.
See that’s the thing. I’ve talked to people who know these players. I’ve seen them play. You never played, don’t know anyone who can provide you meaningful information, and have no understanding of finances around recruiting, of which you’ve been embarrassingly proven wrong.
Your entire recruiting class position is based on what a couple of guys think who’ve ever seen these guys play. It would be more appropriate for you to simply say thank you for providing information instead of pretending like you know anything.
Just talk about the 4 4*s that signed and pretend you know about them. It would be better for your brand here.

FWIW, I know about most or all of these kids because my son plays against them. Some will be studs and others duds - or if anything nobody will know for another couple years. Another nugget for you since you think I’m clueless and constantly rip me a new one including my “brand”. I have one kid that was a top recruit in the country currently playing D1 (not lax). And my son in HS is a top recruit committed for D1 lax. I never mention it here because sadly neither of my kids even considered RU and my wife and I are both alumni. We tried. But, yeah, despite what you think I know all about recruiting finances, the process, and been through it twice.

Well, I know what our offers were, in addition to some teammates, and we basically followed our club’s recruiting coordinator’s advice on what was market-rate for my son’s position, ranking, etc. The $$$ gap between 5*s and 4*/3* is huge and all over the place depending on the school. NIL is nowhere near the numbers people want to throw around but it has picked up significantly and I think the 2028 class will reap the benefit. Regardless, neither of my kids made decisions based on money. Had to be the right fit on and off the field.
My son’s committed to a team that finished top 10 and he’s part of one of the top recruiting classes in the country. Knock on wood I’m looking forward to several future trips to championship weekend.

We landed two of the top 6 scorers in the state of NJ, including number 1. Congrats to Rotkowitz and Jastrzebski, with the latter finishing number 2 all time in the points in state history. 149 points in a season is ridiculous.
It’s not a secret he did the whole commitment post thing last September. He wrestles was preseason ranked top 10…but had a monster lax summer at Showtime, Naptown, and bunch of other events. 9/1 was busy and he picked his dream school. FWIW, I have never really posted about my kids here at least nothing specific. Never know who is on these boards.

You’re the first alleged parent of an athlete I’ve ever seen who is not proud to say where their kid is going. Especially after claiming it’s already public.
Don’t recall exactly what I did or didn’t say. Yes, he had D1 offers for wrestling too although it’s very different process and starts 6/15. It’s not like lax where 9/1 hits and it’s a scramble to visit/commit. I prefer not to say because I’m here to talk RU sports as an alumni and not about my kids or their college choices. BTW, other kid not wresting or lax. I support RU in addition to the other colleges I am, and will be a part of, through my kids.

FO and goalie are very hard to project but Mavilos has got the makings of a good one. Quick hands, athletic, and in the modern age of lacrosse, your fogo needs to be able to play the field a bit which he can.
Early PT is there if he comes in ready. With the way the roster is shaping up, that might be the one spot where need the most pop.
We are in it for another big transfer. Would probably be the last one if we can get him, but a bunch of big time schools are after him. As the portal class stands now, you'd have to say it's top 3.
If he provides depth his freshman year rather than carrying the team it's still a positive

Agreed. Scarelli was really coming on before he got hurt, but he needs some help. The portal didn't bare fruit so there is going to be an opportunity for the younger guys. Mavilos has played elite HS comp. Those guys seem to come into college more ready than anyone.
