Kind of surprised. They had a resume for the regionals but the conference was really strong and there were nine teams ahead of them. Understand they have a strong recruiting class too. Kingston has recruited well but it ain’t showing up on the field. Monte is fired and Kingston isn’t?

Sweeping the C00ts is apparently not enough to keep your job.

Kingston has not recruited well compared to Holbrook or Tanner. Look up the recruiting rankings. We are near the bottom half of the SEC the past several years.

Clemson isn't playing Tanner's game.
That is certainly true from a buyout perspective, Monte Lee's is what only $500K, and what is Kingston's $1.4 million or $2.2 million, Tanner just extended Kingston in July 2021, which was a typical Tanner and BOT completely unnecessary thing to do and unjustified move.

Clemson has not made all the mistakes Tanner has with extensions and buyouts, they can afford to move on, we can't.

But its best for the next AD to pick the next baseball coach anyways.

Hey Tanner

Actually, they are. Lee just concluded his seventh season there, Kingston his fifth here.

One could reasonably argue the leash should be considerably shorter here, given our championship history in the not-too-terribly-distant past.

I won't disagree with you, but I will state that even though we have a couple of national titles, I think Clemron has danced more than us over the decades.

I was thinking Brownell coached basketball? The sport neither school cares much about.
Oh, is that why Frank Martin is gone? Let me guess, there's some other reason for that. You're just using the same argument in one sport and ignoring it in another because it doesn't fit your agenda.

They have made it to more Regionals than us - 44 to our 33.
However, they have only won 17 Regionals to our 18 wins.
We've won 6 Supers to their 4.
And they are 2nd all time in trips to Omaha without a Championship (12). Not to mention they have an abysmal 12-26 record in Omaha.
They have not made it out of a Regional since 2010.

It's not really about how many times you make it. It's about what you do once you are there.

I think the Taters' first dance was 1958, and ours was 1974. Shows what a juggernaut we were in ACC baseball. 😂 Of course, like basketball only one team per conference danced back then.

For schools which emphasize baseball, you are correct - It's not really about how many times you make it. It's about what you do once you are there.

Pretty amazing for USC to not care about a sport in which they won the national championship.
I didn't realize they won a basketball natty. News to me. They need to put up a banner for this achievement. Please call Tanner.

Should have been gone last year or the prior year my man.

Yet you don't have the same thoughts on Brownell even though "Clemson isn't playing Tanner's game." As I said, it doesn't fit your agenda, "my man."
My agenda is to have Kingston gone just as it was to have Martin gone several years back. I checked out on the basketball and the baseball team. That's my agenda my man.

Why? I'm curious to know the reasons. For the record, I wanted him to replace Holbrook, not as confident for that now. His performance at Clemson was not what I expected with the talent he had compared to his previous job at CofC.
Done a good job at CofC and we should have played against CofC back in 2010 instead of Coastal. They were robbed in regional back then. Plus, I always liked Monty when he coached under Tanner...

I've been sitting here watching Ok St play the last few days. I havent seen a coach like they have in a very long time. Maybe never in college. Guy just flat out coaches his butt off. Consistantly talking to his players. Wow. What I wouldnt give...

I like Monte too, but if he can't win at Clemson with their resources and in the ACC, he would have gotten demolished in the SEC.
