What just transpired in the GA-TX game was ridiculous. A terrible call then overturned because of angry fans. Never seen that before.
Hey, is this the same crew that ref'd our game? (The TX UGA game currently being played?)I believe they got the call correct in the end. I just can’t believe that, after the call had officially been made and students delayed the game by throwing bottles, the call was then overturned. I think both coaches have reason to be absolutely livid.
Side note, our LSU game was once again referenced in regards to officiating today. Over a month later.
If so, they've made a name for themselves.Hey, is this the same crew that ref'd our game? (The TX UGA game currently being played?)
I think all the whining by Kirby when he didn't get his way was precious.I believe they got the call correct in the end. I have mixed thoughts on this. Part of me thinks it's precious too. Absurd even. But then part of me thinks - is this guy (and other coaches who do similar things) really just advocating like hell for his team at every single turn? And that's what he should be doing?I think all the whining by Kirby when he didn't get his way was precious.
Actually, I think they got it right in the end, because the contact appeared mutual to me - might have even been initiated by the receiver. But it was an awful look. The Commissioner will get involved in that with the Supervisor of Officials. That referee is going to be admonished. What just transpired in the GA-TX game was ridiculous. I actually would also be absolutely livid in his situation. I mean, the PI call had already been made. How can the crew, without an official review, then come back and change the call? As I said before, I do think the end result was correct, but unfortunately the way they made a call and then changed it afterward simply because of the chaos that occurred was ridiculous.I think all the whining by Kirby when he didn't get his way was precious.
I agree it was the correct call, but there’s a process for a reason. The call had been made. Without a review it seems wrong (I don’t know if there is a specific rule that addresses it) that they would then go back and change a call that had already officially been made.Actually, I think they got it right in the end, because the contact appeared mutual to me - might have even been initiated by the receiver.
