It appears that Pat Patterson (WR), Deonte Skinner (LB) and William Shumpert (FB) has commited to us today.

Pat Patterson 4* Rivals, 3* Scout
Deonte Skinner 3* Rivals, 3* Scout
William Shumpert 3* Rivals, 1* Scout

Patterson was a big pickup.

I think all 3 were pretty big pick ups. I was hoping we would get the Shumpert kid. We needed a potentially dominant FB, and I think he will be one.

the others are good gets but, as we all know, it is a MUST to start pulling some big-time WRs. If we could land Bumphis along with Patterson and Smith and maybe that Mobile kid, you'd have to really like this class.

Kudos to them. We really need some legitimate WRs and it looks like they're getting them. Now if they'll just stick and sign in February.

I had an ole miss fan tell me at work that Yancy and the other idiot are saying that we would never get anyone else from Nox. County because Omar Conner is convincing them not to play for Croom. He was saying Omar is ole miss' best recruiter right now. I am thinking they are wrong aGAIN.

I think we'll get Bumphis. I think we'll probably get Conner, McPhee, White, and possible Gordon. Could be a really good class.

He's been kicking *** in-state...this years' class is just really good AND most are projected to qualify.

what's up with the lack of offers for most of these guys? are there qualifying issues -- most have no other offers, one has an Akansas St. offer, and another has a Souther offer.

Patrick Patterson had LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Ole Miss....Hell, even the University of Southern California wanted him.

Deontae Skinner is a "late bloomer," but still had half dozen offers and is a 3 star on most lists.

William Shumpert is a classic FB. FB's in the classic sense aren't used by many teams anymore. Besides, both were pretty open about what their #1 school was.

commits, but i was looking at the offer lists on rivals and most don't have any other offers, including skinner. what other offers does he have, and why aren't they listed? that stuff drives me nuts. also, shumert has the ark. state offer but none others on rivals.

seeing as he is one of the top players in the state, he's good enough, and he had them in his top three, so you would think he did.

On scout it showed that he had an offer from LSU. From what I can tell, Rivals doesn't always have an updated offer list.</p>

Patterson is a nice get. Hopefully LSU will stay away. We need WR's badly, because if we're going to run the WCO, we are going to need some that have some talent and not rely solely on walk-ons.

I'm not all that excited about Deontae Skinner, this reeks of "package deal", but I'm OK with that. We need WR's, and who knows, Skinner might be pretty good on ST, or may be a diamond in the rough and be a nice OLB for us. I'm willing to spend two scholarships to get a really good WR.

Shumpert probably won't help us win the recruiting MNC, but I bet he turns out to be a great player for us. This is a need position as well with Hoskins injury, Hart being a SR., and I think the guy from Arkansas may have quit (maybe I made that up).

is that he's a 3-star, rated top 40 at his position, and has offers from Ole Miss and Southern. If it's a package deal, it ain't the worst package deal we've ever made. Even our packages are better. That's what she said.

Stockett quit. "Personal reasons" was the listed excuse. I wonder if he broke some team rules or something, because I figured him for some quality PT this season without Hoskins coming back.

I think Hoskins has been cleared for contact so hopefully he'll be ready to go after testing things out in camp.

This might be the best one since 1999, ie, "The Class The Stars Fell Upon", ie, Kevin Fant, Dontae Walker, etc.</p>
