Does anybody here know anything about that team, or even care?

My boss's son plays for the Bama team, scheduled to play against MSU next year.
He wants me to go with him for that match.

Hockey's a big deal here in Huntsville, AL.
The top sport at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.

There's a high-school league here also.

Anyway, hit me back if you have any input.

I am on the team, so if you have a specific question there is a good chance I can answer it. I grew up and played in Huntsville since I was 8, and I know many of the Bama players, so I'm really looking forward to that game.

I've been a UAH hockey fan for three decades, since they were a club team.

Did you play HS at Grissom, Bob Jones, or elsewhere?
I assume you played HAHA at the iceplex.

Awesome, MSU has a hockey team....now, just needs a rink.

That's very doable, a kewl place for students to skate, like an adjunct to the Sanderson center.
I'll bring that up with our new AD, next time we are having old boy cigar time...as if that happens.

We have quite a few games scheduled for the fall and spring. Our first series so far is @ LSU in October, and the first home game is against Alabama in November. We also have games @ Vanderbilt and Alabama and probably Arkansas. And yes, home games will be played at the Bancorp South Arena in Tupelo.

I believe it is February 14-15 next spring, and I think it will be played at the Centennial Sportsplex in Franklin...that's just a guess though so don't hold me to that...

but Centennial is at Centennial Park onWest End. The Ice Center or something is in Franklin. Nashville has a pretty competitive high school league, and one local just got drafted in the 2nd round of the NHL draft.

Southern Ice is the rink in Franklin/Cool Springs, unless they've added another recently that I don't know about...

Hockey is really picking up in Middle TN since the addition of the Predators, particularly in Williamson County, where the parents have the $$$ to finance all the equipment and ice time. I don't know how much it all costs, but it has to be pretty expensive.

I may want to attend the MSU/Vandy games if they are in the Nashville area. It will be a bit strange to cheer for Mississippi State in ice hockey, seeing as I doubt anywhere outside in Mississippi gets frozen over enough very much to skate on.
