not the jelly.

I know you guys keep up with the protocal, etc. for scheduling games. Am I correct that this will be a night game unless LF or CBS pick up the game?

But I'd bet on a Nov. 1 game being a day game unless ESPN picks it up.

...it's up against Auburn-Ole Miss, Florida-Georgia, and Tennessee-South Carolina. Florida-Georgia is the presumptive CBS game. I think it's a crapshoot between the other three SEC games who ESPN wants ahead of Raycom. It could be the morning game, like last year, or it could not. No way to tell this early.

Last year, Georgia-Auburn was the CBS game, Tennessee-SC was the ESPN night game, and MSU-UK was the morning game, with Auburn-Ole Miss left out. It could be similar again this year.

I disagree. Spurrier vs. Fulmer will be the easy pick for ESPN.

I try to have my big party during the day of a night game so that my old ******* neighbors in Starksburgtonville don't call the cops every 5 minutes.

This is exactly the reason that I turned down a job there when I graduated. I love State and hate Starkville. The citizens of that fine city don't seem to realize that without the university that they would be little more than a gas station on the way to Columbus. It has improved a lot since I left in 2000, but they still need to clean up the city. I love the fact that they have a bypass, so I don't have to drive through it on game day.

that I can't have a band back behind my house because of one ******* in the neighborhood. It wasn't like it was acid rock as loud as I could push it out of the speakers. It was very restrained for a live band. I was going to shut it down at 10 PM, which I thought was reasonable. Apparently, the lower decibel level in the ordinance (a level which is below an 18 wheeler engine I might add) kicks in at 8 pm. I think the people just thought I was some kid pulling an all night party, perhaps. Hell, most of the neighbors enjoyed the music. In fact, the house that called the cops was about two blocks away -- the music from festivals in the district, given the proximity and the comparative volume should be louder -- but I guess they apply for a variance.

I had one last year in the afternoon, and it worked out fine -- nobody complained.

Junction. You should bring PBR. Bottles. Please put a tag around each longneck labled "Porkchop." You will need at least 12 of those. You should also bring 6 nehi grapes labled "Dawgstudent."

And chick-fil-a. You will need to bring that, too.

I'm afraid I didn't span out in a 2 block radius. I did tell the neighbors right around me. And the cops. And I told the cops when they came by the first time and asked me to turn it down that I would turn it down further and when I would be ending it and if the guy wanted to call me I would be glad to smooth it over, etc.

I even offered the cops one of my partygoers as the official arrestee, in the event that they did need to arrest someone. Apparently, that whole substituting someone to go to jail for you thing isn't as easy as it used to be.

The afternoon party is fine. It's just hard to plan for that.

Edit: I will be glad to give you the address the cops gave me, and you can go by and shoot the guy if you like.

that had a band in their back yard a couple or so football seasons ago. I live a pretty good ways away, more than two blocks, and it was fairly loud. I like that kind of thing though so it didn't bother me. But I can see where an old guy close by might take exception.

Of course, whether this was your party, I don't have any idea - though I bet it was.

from my house, and although I can't imagine it could have been anything more than barely audible, there certainly isn't any way you could have known which house from that far away -- unless you drove by or something.
