Nicky Fitz without the running. Or winning. I'm not saying he doesn't have a huge ceiling. Great potential. Obviously big 17ing balls to ask for 900k with those numbers. I think I would tell him to do some window shopping and get back with me. Idk

Hearing the same. We’ve been in talks since September and he wants to play for Lebby. I hear that he could be committed next week. We will see.

he throws a nice deep ball. not so good on the intermediate and short. lot of work to do there. and a lot of pocket work to do. he has great potential. it's up to lenny to decide if his potential is worth $900 K. i say no, you don't pay a freshmans that. Because he could escalate astronomically by the time he's a junior, if you pay him that much now. If he sticks to that number, you let him test his market worth at that number. i bet he's back playing here for around $350 K.

Imagine throwing for 11 touchdowns with 7 picks and less than 55% completion percentage and asking for 900k. We tried to run off guys with better numbers
Imagine playing QB as a true FR on a team this terrible.....that's not an unreasonable amount to start at for him. Arnold has a value of $1.3-1.6M per this site.

I’ve got almost no understanding of this NIL stuff.

what is our annual NIL budget for football? Is MVB asking for 10%, 5%, or less of that of that budget? I have no idea, but as starting QB I think the rough deal would be about 3 or 4% of that budget. More than that and I think you hurt the remaining lineup.

As long as we have dipshit as DC we need to pour as much money as possible into the offense.

One would think the returning players would simply be begging to stay on the team after this year's pathetic performance.
Like someone stated earlier, welcome to 2024. Instead, we have to pay the QB $1MM to keep him from leaving. It's sometimes comical and downright sad how US sports fans prioritize college football over most everything else. These guys don't even go to class!

No. I don’t care. But I will say that I’m going on common sense, not some inside source.

If Lebby does bring in a portal QB, he’s even worse than I thought. You have Shapen as a backup, MVB who we have trained for a year, and a raw freshman coming in. We don’t need another QB, and any one we can get is likely not as good as MVB, or Shapen for that matter.

Lebby isn’t running MVB off. But paying MVB $1.5 million would be dumb.
