1. Pat Casey - The only people in the world that would not see this as a homerun hire is KB21, Polk, and Raffo. This would be a homerun hire and he would get an umbelievable amoutnt of man crushes and support.

2. John Cohen - Nuff said, safe hire for various reasons, but I do believe Byrne is looking for more

2b. Brian O'Conner - HC at Virginia and is a very good coach in his 4th sesason. Google him, too lazy to rewrite Bio. There would have to be a little selling to the bulldog nation but he is a winner. I have my reasons for putting him here.

3. Corbin - he will assuredly get a call.

4. Steve Smith - see a watered down version of Cohen as far as fan excitement but he is a really good coach. I do believe he wants it badly also.

5. Honorable mention - McDonnell, Raffo, Showalter, Manieri

My guess one of 2a, 2b gets it and turns it down or we get. He calls Pat Casey, Casey says no, Cohen is up in the air and can go either way and he either comes or we get O'Conner. And I can totally handle that.

After his national championship season in 2006, the University of Notre Dame offered him a position as head baseball coach for $300,000 a year. He eventually turned them down, signing a 10-year, $230,000 a year renewal deal with the Beavers.

I wish he would come but there's no way we can get him out of the 8 years he has left on his contract. </p>

Maybe a comparison between the results of Casey and Cohen would be from a few years ago in football with Pete Carroll and Mark Richt.

The only thing that will keep Casey at OSU is Casey choosing to stay at OSU. My guy feels confident that quality money (some of which will no doubt be his) will be put up to ensure a high level coach is hired.

MSU baseball can make money if we're winning, so money will be spent to ensure winning happens soon.

practically been there his whole life......

edited to add this from his bio:

<font size="2">"Casey enjoys fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Susan, have four children - Jonathan (21), Brett (20), Ellie (16) and Joseph (9); Brett is currently playing baseball for OSU and has also played basketball for the Beavers"

</font><font size="3">he aint going to leave while his son is playing up there</font>
