on the sheep's private pasture page. Tom Walter will be a coach at a bigtime program in the very near future. Living in NOLA, the media raves about what Walter has done after taking over a floundering program (UNO). Think what he could do at facility-rich MSU. He's a darkhorse candidate and I hope Byrne interviews him.

when it comes to MSU sports I usually pull for a guy who can do a lot with a little. in the case of baseball it would be an even better situation to find this type of person since facilities, etc. are pretty damn good here. but as you have said, along with a lot of guys on the board, I would like to be able to get a really big name with a strong record. it may turn out to be difficult but would be sweet if it happened.

all in all though this guy looks to be promising.</p>

He probably does deserve a look, though. Better than the alternative that the Legend has chosen.

how this was their first conference title since 79. Whose *** did they beat in the first round of the NCAA regional that year? If you're really old (like me), who was the starting pitcher for the team they beat (guess that kinda gives it away)?

Who the next weekend beat Cal-State Fullerton in the first round of the CWS, giving them their only loss in the first CWS they won.
