My personal celebration day - it's been 15 years. This year, I have a hiccup....

Fifteen years ago in February my 7-year old and I were wrestling. He hits me square in the jewels. I wanted to throw up the pain was so bad. A few days later, the pain is still there, but not as intense, and I self-check and find there is swelling. Call my urologist and get examined. Testicular cancer. The urologist says - your son likely saved your life. Prior to my son's precise shot to the heart of the matter, I had no issues or concerns. Had a radical orcheotomy (not sure the spelling), 15 sessions of radiation and tested annually for 15 years. Clean. Cancer free.
Until now.

The part @Whart was waiting to hear.
Back on 6/17/2020, I visit my PC for annual diabetes check up. Inform him I have a mole on my back that has been bleeding. "We will need to keep an eye on that."
December 6, 2021, again a diabetes check. He looks at the back and says "you have two spots that should be biopsied." Nothing scheduled, and you don't just walk into a dermatologist's office and ask for biopsies to be performed.
Mid-February 2022, sinus infection. My doctor on vacation, so I see another doctor's NP. I ask her about a spot on my leg that had seemed to become larger. She asks any other spots, and looks at my back. "Those need biopsied immediately."
Less than 24 hours later, I have an appointment. A week later, in the derma's office and 4 spots biopsied.
Results -
On my chest is an abnormal mole. Not an issue.
On my leg is a basal cell carcinoma. Mohs surgery to be performed in May.
On my back is a squamous cell carcinoma. Being removed this coming Thursday. (this was the bleeder I was told, as melanomas do not bleed)
On my back is a malignant melonoma. Very early stage. Being removed April 4. Not deep and derma is very confident all will be well following surgery. However, the derma doc punched me in my one remaining testicle when she said - "in 6 months, we would not be having this conversation. The NP likely saved your life."

As Whart has stated, see your dermatologist and get a body scan/exam.
As others have said, see your urologist and all other ologists. Neither one of my cancers were noticeable and easily could have spread throughout my body.

"I know the plans I have for you," said the Lord. "Plans to help you, not hurt you; plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.

Say "I love you to the ones you love".

The first one was similar to how John Kruk found out about his testicular cancer--he got hit with a pitch there.

@Whart had the second cutting this week.
First one was a 3” long football shape with a 1” diameter circle in the middle. About 20 stitches to bring it back together.
Second one located where doc didn’t feel it would close and stay closed. Skin too tight as it’s between shoulder blades. Left me with a half-dollar sized home 1/8” deep.
Third one is the Mohs on May 12.
Coaching football and being outside at all is sunscreen or a shirt, but for now I’m good.

I would find a new PC. To ignore a bleeding mole is malpractice. By "ignore", I mean not having it removed and biopsied immediately.

Perhaps a consideration and suggestion as I approach 80, actually I am celebrating the last year in my 70's. My personal statement to and for myself is as follows:
'Every sunrise and Every sunset - is a blessing' !

Please allow me to explain -- over the years .... 19 total operations - 5 bouts of Pneumonia (one bad on while at PSU) - left knee kept me out of Nam, Heart Attack ( Chlor @ 296, no exercise, terrible diet, business stress was unbelievable) and waited 3 days for treatment - 6 operations on my heart with 4 stents in RCA - Prostate Cancer 2 years ago with 28 radiation sessions and hormone shots every 6 months - trigger finger and elbow nerve operations, cataracts on both eyes - 4 benign skin biopsies ........and so far I have beaten everything.

All I can say is ' I am hangin' in' !
Managed sales - designed a product - founded a top ten website and company - wrote a book 'The Value of Three Words ..' (available on Amazon) - need to complete 2 editorials - write another book with possible CBS 5 part series - finish 2 incorporations off-shore for domain names - start 2 additional incorporations in USA for domain names ----- Have I done enough to reflect on my essay 'Never Give Up'.

As I comment on all of this -- several years ago we lost our 8 year old grandson to Heart Disease and my Father below in my essay 'Never Say Goodbye' ....

'My father was a teenager at the beginning of the “The Great Depression” and a Teacher in the Navy during WWII, and not used to public emotion even to his son. But the night before Thanksgiving, 1980, I was the last one to see and talk to him before his open-heart surgery the next day. I did not know and had not been told of his heart condition, as he died that day after that failed operation. Forty years later, I still miss him, thankful I could say “I Love You”, and wonder why we did not do so, many times before.
Now, I am thankful I learned to say that to loved ones. I use it all the time.'

For what I have learned over so much time .........Take care of yourself and the ones you Love ! ..........

Many physicians for some reason do NOT refer to dermatologist promptly-just wait-do not know why because there is no downside to go to dermatologist. Referrals should be made much quicker. i had something on my nose which I thought was not big deal-I see a dermatologist because of psoriasis. In 1 second dermatologist knew it was skin cancer and he treated it successfully. If I was not seeing a dermatologist regularly it could still be there and cancer could have spread. Demand to see a dermatologist if there is ANY question-may save your life. I know a woman and she was recovering from cancer and had a mole-family doctor said just wait. The mole was cancerous and killed her. Surprised husband who was a nurse anesthesis did not sue.
