My prediction is if LSU beats Bama neither will make the playoff but if Bama wins they will.

Reason:
LSU has Florida, Vandy and OU. I have a feeling one of those teams will beat LSU.
If Bama wins, they have Mercer, OU and Auburn. I think Bama can run the table if they beat LSU.

Other SEC stuff:

If Texas beats A&M, then the Aggies are out but if A&M beats Texas both will have a chance
Texas has UF, Ark, KY along with A&M. I think A&M is the only possible loss.
A&M has New Mexico, Auburn along with Texas.

Tenn has Miss State, GA, UTEP and Vandy. They could lose to both GA and Vandy if they keep playing the way they did this past Saturday.

Missouri has two loses but they have OU, SC, Miss State and Arkansas. Good chance they win out. Depends on QB health,

Ole miss has GA, UF and Miss State. They have to run the table to have a chance to get in.

It is not outside the possibility that a two-loss team gets into the SEC play off and lose giving them three losses and another two loss SEC teams not playing in the SEC championship game ending with two losses.
What will the committee do. Are they going to let a three-loss team in?

The two loss theory will be put to test.

I'd let a 3 loss SEC team that lost in the SECCG in over a 2 loss SEC team that doesn't play in it.

I haven't heard this confirmed, but I've been told that the committee doesn't plan to penalize a team for losing the SEC championship game when it comes to making the field. They would just drop them in the seeding.

LSU/Alabama is an elimination game
The only way Texas AM is getting in is to beat Texas, but even then they likely lose the SEC champ game and dont get in.

Ole Miss beating Georgia turns everything upside down...UGA wins clears the picture.

After this weekend, 1 SEC team will be eliminated from contention. If Ole Miss loses, 2 will be.

Texas/UGA/Tenn would take multiple losses down the stretch to not get in.

I think yall might as well start making your predictions based on an OM win. Georgia is not a great football team right now with Beck struggling.

That's the problem with the conference title games and one big reason I'd like to eliminate them. The committee should not penalize someone heavily for losing those games, but history proves they absolutely will. It's medieval thinking from the previous era, and it gives one more strike against a team and makes it easy for the committee to be lazy and eliminate someone from consideration.

It's not like a basketball/baseball tournament, where the top seed or whatever is already safely in, and the tournament is essentially functioning as a last grasp effort for a middling team to get an auto-bid.

But hey, I'll admit that it may be interesting seeing Georgia vs. say, Tennessee for a shot at the bye, as long as we're sticking with 12 teams. But I'd rather just add more teams to the real tournament and let no one get a bye.

Thats the thing. Still a lot of scenarios.

UGA still has two tough games left which they could easily lose.

There are 7 SEC teams that have a shot at getting in right now... for 4 spots, i cant see the SEC getting 5 with how the big10 is performing. After Saturday there will be one eliminated for sure (LSU/Alabama)
