I can't think of any. Flea-flickers - nope. Double pass - nope. Throw back to the QB - nope. Reverse on a KR - nada. Big play fake kick - nope.

Our razzle has no dazzle.

hand off to Davis, pitch back to Jordan, Bomb to Moulds for 6.

Against Bama on the goal line, in 94? End around, hand back to McCrary for the TD.

87 Egg Bowl. Underwood fakes Hank over the top on 4th and 1, hits Jesse Anderson down the middle for about a 50 yd td.

In over 100 years that's the 3 I remember

That states the case. LOL

The Kang & Watson Brown had a killer fast-developing reverse play. I'm not sure I'd count that as a trick play though. But we did win @ Auburn on that play.

The non-trick trick was lining Wyatt up in a short punt formation, then dropping him back to punt it. Not one time did we ever throw it out of that formation that I recall.

We also had Chris Rainey and Kelvin Love who were at least decent HS/JC quarterbacks, and they never threw the ball that I can remember. In a way, that was one thing I liked about Jackie and our good teams. We didn't have to do that kind of stuff. We just lined up and laid the hat on people for four quarters and if you were better than us, then you won.

Still one of my favorite plays of all time. It completely changed the momentum of that game. Everybody in the stands and on the field knew it was going to be a dive play. Anderson was about 20 yards behind everybody when Underwood threw that pass.

Here lately I'd call a first down a good trick. Touchdown, now that's pulling the hat out of the rabbit.

Sarcasm not intended.

it was late in the game, and maybe it was the game winning td - i don't remember.

fake screen left, fake screen right, then hit donald lee all by himself in the middle of the field. that team was notorious for the screen, and we'd been setting it up all night. i'd count that as a trick play.

up the middle on 3rd and 23? That's pretty much a trick play. I mean, nobody in their right mind would expect a team to do something that damn stupid. Unless, of course, they watched our films.

qualifies as a thread hijack, but since you mentioned Jordan's name here goes. I just finished reading Confederacy of Silence due to your mentioning it several times over the past year. Great book for those looking for some summer reading material.

Does the LB Tony Burks reverse/end around count?

We actually pulled that off several times last year- once against Ole Miss, but it got called back because of a hold and once against Auburn.

We also had a fake punt pass that we executed perfectly against Tulane two years ago, but Lance Long, who was all by himself mind you, but he stepped out of bounds a couple feet short of the first down.

In Jackson. Pass was almost overthrown, right? Hit the guy in the finger tips and he juggled and pulled it down.

Fant lining up with Ray Ray in the backfield, then Fant went wide and Ray Ray took the snap. For us at least that is as wild as it gets.

...on 3rd down. That would be pretty tricky if we faked the kneel, and threw a TD to a TE on a delay. I think we should do that against Alabama in Tuscaloosa this coming season. ;-)

...John Bond kept the ball on the option for some 50 yards before lateraling it to Al Ricky Edwards who took it the rest of the way for the TD. A beautifully executed option play.

...the first time was at Arkansas in 2001, when Fant "went down" sending Joey Judge in at QB. Ray Ray was lined up at TB, Judge sprinted out to WR, Ray Ray took the shotgun snap and ran it for a long first down. Fant back in next play. Note: This game was not televised.

Next week, vs. Ole Miss, same setup except Fant stayed in at QB, sprinted out to WR, first down Ray Ray. Note: This game was on TV.

NEXT week, vs. BYU, same setup as before. Remember me noting that the Ole Miss game was on TV? Apparently Mormons can watch ESPN, because the third time we ran it, it got stuffed.

Side note: The first time we ran it, when Fant "went down", we were trying to save the redshirt on Kyle York, so Judge went in, and Jack had no idea who #28 was at QB.

....granted we got beat by approximately nine thousand points that day, including an appearance by vaunted Volunteer QB legend Jim Bob Cooter and halftime entertainment by Lee "So Proud To Be An American That I'm Wearing An American Flag Button-Up Shirt" Greenwood, but we did finally get two points after running that damn swinging gate for what must have been the 1000th time.

It's a good book, but the facts are really mixed up in regards to Jordan / Campbell and playing time, etc.

I'm not really sure I would call the 87 EggBowl play a "trick play" , but it might be the best play call I have EVER seen from an MSU offense.

It worked to perfection. I still remember the feeling it gave me as I watched in confidence that Hank would get enough air for the first down , then to my surprise ( and the surprise of everyone in the state ) We were in the endzone and at that moment , I knew We were going to win the game that day. Hell , I think the Rebels even knew it after that play.

I will try again since my other post never showed .......

I thought of a good one. We pulled off a fake punt vs.UGA in the early 80's that resulted in a TD , I believe.

We lost after Bond fumbled a snap in the 4th quarter inside the UGA 20 , driving for the winning TD.

Maybe , just freaking MAYBE.........THIS POST will actually show up on this site. Who the Hell knows. I have wasted tons of time posting here , only for it never to show up on the board.

GD this thing has gone to **** since the yuku move was made.

"Bivins in at quarterback" was announced just to make sure everyone knew what was going to happen.

I remember Ray Ray running in about a 25 yard TD against Ole Miss on a direct snap. Not sure if Fant was taken out on that play or if it was on that play you are referring.

half when we were actually moving the ball AND in the game. We KIND OF had LSU on their heels for the first time in 8 years and we turn the ball over. There was definitely pass interference on the play though.

If Henig would have just thrown the ball when he got it instead of holding for a second it would have been a TD

I'll be damned...you're right, Bivines did score on that against Ole Miss.

From the 2002 media guide:

vs. Arkansas: Bivines 1 run for 15 yards
vs. Ole Miss: Bivines 1 run for 7 yards, TD
vs. BYU: Bivines 1 run for -2 yards.

Apparently Bivines also had 1 run for 9 yards against Auburn, but I have no recollection of that specific event. Probably a reverse.

I do remember seeing the replay on TV and you could read Jackie's lips saying "great call Sparky!"

That was a great play but should have been canned after Ole Miss, or used as some type of diversion.

We had Donald Lee lined up wide on the PAT and Troy State neglected to send someone out to cover him. We hiked the ball and threw it to Lee for 2 points. We won the game 11-8 in what I would term a moral loss. Darren Williams had 3 interceptions that day and we still only won 11-8. Terrible. This was also the game that featured the famous Kevin Fant QB sneak injury in the waning seconds which still holds the position of dumbest coaching move ever.

....that there was a high shotgun snap or something like that in the waning minutes where the ball got behind Fant, and he had to run backwards about 15-20 yards to recover it, otherwise Troy would've picked it up and beaten us again.

I don't know if Bama ever bought it but the media sure did. I recall JP showing highlights of Mike Piziniski (sp?) warming up in their game intros.

Then Jordan hobbles out and plays in what looked like a walking boot/cast.
