Impressive opening drive by ND. 10 minutes. If they can talk Ryan Day into “running tough” instead of using his all-American receivers, I think ND could win this.
Yep. And their payroll looks like one, tooOSU looks like an NFL team
Not sorryAnd Jeter just boinked one...lol
I don’t know if you can say that had no business in the field. The proof was in the pudding.Oh nooooo......... The Noodle Lamers play no one all season in order to sneak into the playoffs and then actually has to play one of the big boys and get their butts handed to them....
Shocked. I'm just shocked. (rolling my eyes) - Noodle Lame has no business being on the field with the big boys. No worries though, the pathetic cycle to prop them into the playoffs again next year begins tomorrow. And the media will happily oblige. It's disgusting. Truly awful.

Yes.I despise ND as much as the next guy, but once we're 3 games deep into the playoffs, can we still have the "they don't belong" argument?
Their path did include the SEC champs too.
Sorry. Just doesn’t track. They also played a respectable and fairly close game against OSU, who doesn’t really seem to have many detractors at all this morning about whether they truly were the best team this year.Yes.
When you play a middle school schedule - you don't belong in the playoffs in the first place. But once you get in, simple math says you're going to win some games. They don't belong on the field with the big boys and that was proven in 2013, and again last night. They are the epitome of pretenders. Decade after decade.
They did play Texas AM and beat them fairly easyYes.

That's sad.Don’t know it was on til I saw the results this morning. I was catching up on Outlander.
Yes.

You are correct. 100% correct!I would count the SEC champion as a "big boy" though.
You are correct. 100% correct!
Now do it 8 times in one season.
See the difference? That's the difference between big boy ball and middle school ball. They play, at most, 3 or 4 "decent" teams during the season. It's a joke. I know I am biased. Truth be told, I dislike ND more than Clemmons. It's that bad.
I agree. I had less interest in this national championship game than any in the Bowl Alliance/BCS/Playoff era. In fact, despite all the anticipation, I found the playoff to be pretty underwhelming in general. I watched about 10 minutes of the game last night and if I could have found an episode of Mountain Men that I hadn't already seen, I probably wouldn't have watched even that long.More like disinterested.
This shows us that all we have to do is spend more money than anyone else and we can win a National Championship. So, lets empty our pockets and bank accounts. We can do this!!!!!
Maybe it’s a smart business plan for ND and Clemson to not play a tough schedule and make it to CFP with fewer injuries. Then win some games and I expect ND made over $20M that wasn’t shared with other teams. I really don’t think they care what you think either, says the AD that just got the $20M!You are correct. 100% correct!

And you are correct too. The sentiment behind my post was that if ND played an 8 game SEC schedule, they would've never even sniffed the playoffs. (I know you understood that)Who played Georgia 8 times in one season?
I get it, I agree their regular season schedule was weak. And i hate ND too.
I feel dirty defending them in any way.
But once they win in the playoffs, they deserved to be there more than the teams they beat. And that includes our conference champ.

My gripe with ND is 3 fold. 1) Growing up in the 80's in NC - the only college game on TV was generally ND and whoever. I grew to resent that and them because I wanted to see us play. Cable TV eventually started showing most , and then all, of our games but that envy never left me. 2) They have a very specific formula and it goes like this: > Play no one but cream puffs all season long because the media will prop them up for no legitimate reason and hopefully that will be enough to sneak into a championship game. 3) Once they are actually in a championship game - ala BAMA in 2013 and OSU the other night - they get their butts handed to them because they get exposed as being the pretenders that they are, and that really ticks me off because I can see it clear as day ---- and I wonder why no one else in the media calls this out. (Back to envy)
And I concede your point about the 12 team playoff. They were better than I thought they were overall - can't deny that. In the final analysis (my own) they were still down 31-7 at one point and it wasn't much of a game, as I expected. They ultimately got exposed - however - to be fair, OSU is an incredibly good team this year. Really strong. Overall, I'm glad ND lost but I'm still angry because we'll go through this exact same thing next year - *THAT* is kinda my point.....ND plays no one, the cycle will repeat as it has for the past several decades. Just irks me.Yeah, I understood it. I was being a little sarcastic.
I do hate ND, and I do think they played an easy schedule. They play a bunch of ACC teams, and southern cal sucked.
And back in the 2 or 4 team playoffs, I would agree with you. You could luck up in a game and be playing for the title.
I just think with the 12 team playoff, they are facing 3 games, so less chance of just being lucky. And I can't get over a path that includes our conference champ being called "easy". They at least had to go through our best.
Edit: Other than that, I agree 100% with your second paragraph.

Or Texas AM could show up next year and beat them. A & M failed to do so in 2024Yeah. We have to hope southern cal gets better AND and ACC team or two catches them. Not good chan especially of that.
