I don't care what Davis Stern says, but those Refs handed the game to LA last night.

Several questionable calls on the Celtics at the end and the no-call on the "steal"..

The NBA is all about $$$, and the more games they play the more $$$ they make.

At least Boston can win at home on Tuesday...

Agree. Go back and look at the number of free throws taken by each team in the 4th quarter. If the fix was in, they sure weren't fixing it for the Lakers. They may have blown a call or two, but they seemed to be bad both ways, at least to me.

I'm not saying the fix is in but that rule is set in stone.. you leave the bench, you get suspended. It doesn't matter who you are or who you play for. Pat Ewing and Allan Houston got suspended for Game 6 of a playoff series for fighting (and they were eliminated in that game). Had there been a Game 7, John Starks and Larry Johnson would've had to sit out. The only reason they didn't all sit out Game 6 is you have to have a minimum number of players dressed for a game.

never got near the fracas, he could have ruled differently. Small market teams keep making the finals, which they wouldn't if the fix was in.

he has never backed off that rule and I don't think he ever will.. leave the bench, get suspended. Period. You can't "fix" games in the NBA because the ball still has to go in the basket but the officials certainly can influence who wins a game. I'm not saying it's orchestrated by the league but officials do tend to get caught up in the emotion of the home crowd and make some "curious" calls and we all know the superstars get calls, whether at home or on the road. Actually I'm surprised at how few times the officials have bailed Kobe out this series. I was expecting a lot more.

Kobe never touched the ball on "the steal".

Kobe is almost never ever in foul trouble.

</p>Exactly... All arm and no ball and they win the game.

We all knew the Lakers would win game 5, Stern told to Refs to make it happen and they did..

The NBA doesn't want a well-refereed game; in the regular or post-season.

1) The NBA, to keep up with the "bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic players of today", could easily add 2 more refs for each game.
2) NBA refs NEVER (well as rare as a comet you can view with the human eye) call walking, carrying the ball, 3 seconds in the lane, stepping in-bounds on the throw-in after a made basket, pushing off, or pushing/charging when a player uses his backside to push his way to the basket.
3) You can get mauled trying to come across the lane and post-up, yet a "star" player will be sent to the line if a defender raises a hand in front of him.

If you want to prove a conspiracy, all you have to do is ask these questions: Who decided that the games should be refereed in this manner? The referees among themselves? Or did the NBA instruct them to do this?

i heard the mavs play-by-play guy say the other day he's always felt the nba is partial to the bigger names in the game and by comparison college officials are heads and heels above nba officials when it comes to actually officiating (guess he never seen a sec game). we saw it last year in the spurs/suns series (regardless who was suspended afterwards), we saw it when dwayne wade was getting every call in the 06' finals, and we have a referee actually admit to it accuring in the 02' western conference finals. the series that is going on right now is a joke. yeah its happening and it needs to be blown way out of proportion like the media did for steroids and spygate. this is much much worse.

About 65% of the Public on Boston +7 and Over 192. But about 80% on Boston ML. So

Celtics have been 5-0 Against the Spread in Finals. Lakers the bigger public team.
Some games are rigged, no doubt.

But it doesn't look like the case last night.

I think this particular discussion is more about the NBA front office having an influence on the refs, than vegas influencing the refs.
