These towns, communities, crossroads ( whatever the appropriate description) are or maby were because I found them in a 1932 publication. Appreciate any help y’all can give. Thanks. They are- Tirzah- Lykesland- Lanford, Fairmont- Lydia- Ogden- Clifton. Anyone around the state know any of these?

Lydia is on U.S. Hwy 15 between Bishopville and Darlington. There is a good eating place there, Mr. B's, and a decent golf course, Fox Creek. It's less than 10 miles from Hartsville by way of a back road.
Tirzah is a hamlet between Rock Hill and York. I believe it is on S.C. 161.
Tirzah really had me stumped. Knowing from your posts how many places you have lived or been connected to might help. Thanks
You are right, but it was fun looking them up and finding out a little history on each as I did it! Other other than Clifton, I didn't know where any of them were, and I thought I had traveled the whole state pretty well many times.
Lanford caught my attention because I thought I remembered it from years ago. So, I cheated and went to a site I've looked at before to see if it
had an entry.
Turns out I lived not too far away from the community when I was about 15.

Little ways out from Calhoun Falls right next to Mt Carmel
Lykesland ... now there's a name I haven't heard in decades. The last time I heard anybody say this one out loud was back in the 70s when I was a kid and my grandfather would mention Lykesland every now and then. I grew up in Hopkins, and Lykesland is between Mill Creek and Hopkins at end of Air Base Rd.
Fairmont is in James F Byrnes school district...it is the only area where kids that go to Byrnes have a Spartanburg address...its right off Reidville Rd. from Spartanburg headed towards HWY 290....Reidville road takes you into Greenville County at the Enoree River which is where Byrnes district meets JL Mann's district (Greenville City School)...I grew up on the Spartanburg County side of the Enoree River...That area on both the Greenville County and Spartanburg County side are Greer addresses...
It's Clifton and Glendale...both in Northern Spartanburg County towards Gaffney...
Along the way down 290, once you cross over HWY 101 (BMW exit) you pass Sugar Tit!!!
