I have never been and I want the full experience. What's the best way to go about renting a cabin on the fairgrounds?
I just reached out to them. I can pay whatever. Thanks for that.It isn't easy to find one and prices can be absolutely ridiculous. Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc. Reach out to the fair association and they might have some leads. https://neshobacountyfair.org/

I love the fair, but I would say don't do that. It's a cool experience but it's a love it or hate it thing. I think the majority of people that do it as a visitor say that was a really cool experience; checked it off and don't care much about doing it again. A good number of people hate it or just don't get why it's desirable. A small number of people really catch the fever.I just reached out to them. I can pay whatever. Thanks for that.
Hottest, most humid, dustiest/wettest (yes both in the same week sometimes) most crowded weeks of the year in those parts and people go there and sit around listening to political speeches that have been on TV for weeks, watch horses run around in circles pulling buggies, hear has been music acts wail away..... People from there love it and I guess I kind of get it, people not from there generally go once and never again. I actually went twice with a girl I thought I wanted to marry and her family, and you couldn't give me a cabin for the week to get me to go again.
This is what I was thinking. Even if you rent a cabin, it's not like Sid Salter is going to invite you to his cabin along with the Molphuses and Mannings and yall sit around telling stories about Willie Morris and the time Reagan came in '80 while you drink Evan Williams and eat deviled eggs.I love the fair, but I would say don't do that. Before I did that, I would just go for the weekend. You can probably get a cheap room at the casino and it's not much of a drive. It's not the same experience as being at a cabin on the grounds, but it will give you an idea. I'm not sure even renting a cabin would give you the real experience. Part of what is cool is the community among families that have been going for decades. Even when you're not a part of it, it's kind of cool to see it.
I wouldn't share a drink with a Manning. This is what I was thinking. This may be a hot take for the pack, but I feel like of all the Mannings, Eli would be the best hang.I wouldn't share a drink with a Manning.
I agree, we should hang the Mannings. This may be a hot take for the pack, but I feel like of all the Mannings, Eli would be the best hang.
I am thinking about looking for a wife, and I figure it's the best place to start.I will have to say, if “whatever” was my budget that’s a week that I wouldn’t be spending at the Neshoba County Fair

Philadelphia, MS, in the summer? Some of you single guys need to reach out to Mobile Bay and volunteer to be his wingman.
wingman /wĭng′mən/
noun
A person who helps, guides, or supports another, especially one who assists a friend in trying to seduce another person.
I can assure you that the Molpuses and probably the Mannings will welcome you to a tea or lemonade and a spell on the front porch if you don't act a fool. This is what I was thinking. If you are a halfway decent and friendly person you will never go hungry or thirsty the whole week....or sober for that matter.I can assure you that the Molpuses and probably the Mannings will welcome you to a tea or lemonade and a spell on the front porch if you don't act a fool.
You should know there’s a difference between the Girlfriend Experience and the Fairgrounds Experience. ******I have never been and I want the full experience. What's the best way to go about renting a cabin on the fairgrounds?
Your wife or someone else's. When someone asks you to stop by and "swing" on the front porch, I do not think that means what you think it means.I am thinking about looking for a wife, and I figure it's the best place to start.
One time while Eli was still in college, and he was at the fair and threw a beer bottle over the balcony, and somebody yelled because it hit them. He told one of his friends, “If you take the blame for this, I got you” and that was thatThis may be a hot take for the pack, but I feel like of all the Mannings, Eli would be the best hang.

The Fair, as it is called, is not a fun experience if you don’t have access to a cabin unless you are 25 or younger. My best friend rents one every year. We went last year for 3 days and had a blast. We spent the night at the Silver Star, 10 minute drive. Rooms are not cheap during fair week. A little over $300/night.I love the fair, but I would say don't do that. It's a cool experience but it's a love it or hate it thing. You will be surprised who will invite you on their porch or balcony. Especially during the horse races. This is what I was thinking. Even if you rent a cabin, it's not like Sid Salter is going to invite you to his cabin along with the Molphuses and Mannings and yall sit around telling stories about Willie Morris and the time Reagan came in '80 while you drink Evan Williams and eat deviled eggs.
Plan on a minimum of $5k for the week plus the cost of food and drink. Then, factoring in utility deposits, fair tickets, car permits you can easily burn through $10k. Make sure you have 2 bathrooms with working showers and toilets that actually flush. Working AC is a requirement but bring plenty of fans. Make sure the fridge works and an extra one is beneficial. Freezer is handy since you are planning to be there a week. Wear cheap flip flops all week. Be respectful of your neighbors and be prepared to get your *** kicked if you aren’t. It is almost impossible for an out of towner to make bail out of the jail that week so steer clear of that. Don’t come to the fair in any vehicle that matters to you. It is almost guaranteed you will bring back home several new door dings or worse. Betting on the horse races can be fun but the locals will take all your money. If you cannot find a cabin do not give in and get a camper spot. Sheer misery, in my opinion. Better to wait till the next year. Go ahead and have a blast. After all, it is only money.I have never been and I want the full experience. What's the best way to go about renting a cabin on the fairgrounds?
