The top of that MWC is something. How does Boise State lose to a D2 school team and still start off at 80 in striking distance of the bubble?

Not surprised overall but a big surprised that the Big 10 is 3rd in the initial ranking behind the SEC and Big 12.

Central Connecticut State is 151 so just a Quad 3 loss for now.

RU sos is currently 289 all based on non conference but will get on overall significant bump the next week

Oregon is 192 and Maryland is 200. Didn’t expect that.
In Marylands case losing by 39 and 33 even if its to top 55 net schools is a killer plus the 5 point margin of Mt St Marys

in any case its pretty early and net will have more irregularities and wild swings than Ken Pom until we get to the end of December

Kenpom is off for different reasons in many cases. It’s still heavily based on preseason expectations right now.

Yes not a fan of plugging preseason numbers into the system..makes zero sense

I’m not suggesting there’s a better way, I just think with all the roster turnover midmajor projections are harder than ever before. At those lower levels, the way pieces fit into the schemes has a much bigger impact on season outcomes than the relative talent rating. The most talented kids from the prior year are all poached by the big dogs.

The NET obviously is not relevant for Rutgers this year but we are at 127 today. Still time with a breakthrough win to move up but never enough

that Kenpom rating which inflates the power conference teams early since it has preseason data in it is not really better...RU is the 2nd worst power 5 conference school in the country.

Wouldn't happen in a million years but it would be fun to beat Michigan just to see how much we'd go up and they'd go down.

I'm surprised BC isn't a bigger spender in the NIL arms race. Like RU, both BC football and basketball are way behind their conference peers.

who thinks we rank 194 in player $$ (nil plus revenue share)?
Rutgers doesn’t compete with 194 team ahead of them. They need to compete with the Big Ten schools. Right now they are dead last in the Big Ten for NIL. And it’s probably a wide margin.

And there it is...Rutgers falls to 198 and Georgia Tech tumbles to 202. Rutgers is no longer the official worst Power 5 school.

It gone be a seesaw horse race all year that will have many of us on the edge of our seats
