Shane Beamer has landed an important piece to the South Carolina Gamecocks football team. Syracuse defensive end Jatius Geer committed to South Carolina less than a week after he was in town for an official visit, which will help address a position of need for the 2023 season.
Geer, who redshirted in 2021, has appeared in 14 career games in college, 12 of which he was a starter. He will have three years to play three seasons with the Gamecocks. For his career, he has 34 career tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, a pass breakup and a forced fumble.
The decision was announced Thursday afternoon, just moments after Beamer tweeted #WelcomeHome, to signal a commitment.
