It also makes sense if you think about who the ultimate prize in all this expansion is. To get SoCal they pretty much had to take UCLA....SoCal is who the conference needed. That gives the B1G SoCal, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, and Penn State....five of UNDs biggest rivals including the top 3. Number 4 would be Miami. It makes sense to a degree. In conference play for all sports (except football), teams will play So Cal/UCLA back to back on the road, and Wash/Ore the same way. If you have outliers in conferences, you need to have someone to schedule close by.
Dont forget Navy!It also makes sense if you think about who the ultimate prize in all this expansion is. To get SoCal they pretty much had to take UCLA....SoCal is who the conference needed. The SEC should have been warned about Mo when the B10 refused them. WVa would have been a much better fit both culturally, academically and sportswise. The SEC allowed ESPN to tell then what to do instead of following what they really wanted to do. WVa badly wanted to be in the SEC. Mo did not.View attachment 378617
Here this should help. Absolute insanity.

UCF, Cincinnati and Houston have moved from the AAC to the B1G 12 so there is no effect on those travel itineraries. But not really. The Big 12 map is even more insane. West Virginia, Arizona, Central Florida - the logistics will be insane. And don’t forget about Lubbock, Texas - the most isolated school in America outside Hawaii.
