And, Raffo was given the job of telling some of the dead weight on the roster to not worry about showing back up in the fall.

that was going to happen regardless. i wouldn't chalk it up to weeding out just yet. there's no way cohen has had the time to evalaute the players. perhaps through phone discussions and interviews, some players have volunteered to leave because they know they won't be able to handle it, but i doubt he's cut anyone based on stats.

i figured it up a couple weeks ago, and my numbers may be off by a player or two, but i think there are 42 players on the current roster with 5 seniors having just graduated. weatherford and likely turner are gone. that leaves 35. we have 6 signees that i know of, and that gets it back to 41. i imagine cohen will add a few more to that in the next month. you can safely assume that 7-10 current players will have to go.

For Raffo, it was brought up on GP, and he confirmed it's already done.

As far as the Polk part, that came from my former boss, who used to be a cigar boy-type until he retired.
He's been out of town the last 2 weeks, and had no idea what Polk had done until
I showed him his tirade in the paper today.
He immediately went & called Byrne, and then called one of the active cigar boys and they both cussed Polk. It was hilarious.....
