What is the purpose of the camera?

These cameras are being installed to provide a visual ability to see if storms have produced a tornado so that a warning can be issued or upgraded. While they are on a publicly available website (https://nmscas.org/nmsc-skycam-network/), they are designed to be monitored by the NWS, local media, and ourselves.

Our goal is to have a state wide network of these. This is our 3rd one to go live and that number will be up to 5 in the next 1-2 weeks and 7 in 3-4 weeks hopefully. As our non-profit receives more donations and business sponsorships we will expand the network out.
