Only positions he has ever coached were RB for one year at UAB and OL for one year at UAB. Spent a few years at Bama in an off-field capacity in player personnel. Last 2 years with the NY Giants, one as a defensive analyst and one as offensive analyst.

Looks like they were on staff together at MSU for a couple seasons.
Not being a downer, but I don't see anything in his coaching history that would indicate he can be a TE coach.

Yes, I took one look at this guy and the Belichickness jumped right out at me.
I'm trying very hard to be constructive on a good day and harmless on a bad one.

The main concern I have is that the guy has a total of 2 seasons as a position coach, one at RB and one at OL. It looks he has more off-field experience than on-field.

6 years under Saban can't be replicated anywhere else...including the NFL. All coaching hires are gambles...this is one of the better kinds to make.
What is a tight end, if not a blocking extension of the offensive line, with additional pass catching skills, like a running back coming out of the backfield.

I don’t think a TE coach is all that important, which is why I didn’t freak out when Kimrey left, like some other posters did. I just don’t see TE coach qualification from a guy who has mostly served in an off-field capacity.
So far I haven't seen anyone being necessarily down on this hire, just don't see anything in his background that jumps out at you.
I fail to see what is wrong with that.
I'm more concerned with how good of recruiters the two new hires are. Theres not much in either one's resumes that give a clear indication.
