To several:
We're not the only band that wears shorts and t-shirts. I belive Ole Miss band did the same. Those uniforms are pretty damn hot. I lost 10 pounds after the Memphis game in 1997 and I'm not in that bad of shape. (Never passed out). Back in the day, the season used to start a little bit later than it does now, and I would venture to guess that the games were later with no JP 11:30 specials.
You can call me a ***** or whatever, but all I know is that we are starting to see more and more football players die due to heatstroke, and they are out there in t-shirts and football equipment which is much more designed for warm weather. It's about common sense. Ya'll are saying that you would rather the band look good and put people in a life threatening situation than have the band that ya'll supposedly don't give a damn about wear khaki pants and a polo shirt that matches. Band uniforms are designed for cold weather, which in the South means pretty much the Egg Bowl for us and maybe Arkansas.
The solution is for someone to come up with a band uniform that is more lightweight and breathes easier. But until someone does, stop bitching about the khaki shorts.
