I have been catching parts, and some interesting and surprising moments.
QB - Stetson Bennett can throw a ball - he may make it. CJ Stroud accuracy something else. Anthony Richardson is an all around freak - not sure why it did not show on the field. Levis has strong arm - but not as much beyond everyone as he claimed. His turf toe limited his running. I did not know that Clifford was not invited (he holds almost every passing record at psu - maybe did not show in AS games). Kind of odd to see our record holder not there, and guy he beat out being acclaimed as the next coming.
WR - I thought Tinzel would be about 4.45-4.5, so 4.6 was slower than I thought. Still a good WR. Another ex-psu player Justin Shorter at the Combine - how did he get invited? He did nothing at PSU and nothing at UF. Maryland guys Copeland and Jarrett seem to show well.
TE - Strange in the top 5 on several areas. His 4.7 was slower than I thought he was. He will be a steal for someone. the ND guy Mayer gets a lot of attention even though in the bottom half of TEs on speed and size. Zach Kuntz, another psu refugee appears in top 5 in a few categories - good combo of speed and size but no field results. UGA Washington a beast.
DL - did not see these guys, but PJ must not have shown well. The under ware Olympics are not to his benefit. did here comments about him not having a great season in 2022 to show how he can be fire hydrant. Looking at the top guys at DT you can see what we miss. Our DEs/edge when in the combine show well, but not DTs especially 1-tech.
DBs - Joey 40 seemed about what we would expect. Brown 40 was slower than expected, but he showed well in other areas. He was radared at 20 mph in one of the drills - and the comment was that speed would normally lead to a faster 40. He can play. Surprised to see 2 Maryland guys showing up - never heard of these guys. seems like the NFL teams want in low 4.4's for 40. It is like the 40 time is what gets you paid.
