have we ever seen a field "storming" by fans after an NFL game that might be a dramatic upset. Say if Carolina had managed to beat the Chiefs would have been a dramatic upset. NFL fans can certainly be intense - I had the bad luck sitting between NYG and Eagles fans which got pretty intense.

1972 Immaculate Reception game. Steelers fans stormed the field before the clock had even expired.

The catch SF v Dal 1981 as well.

Why none recently? I think there was a concerted effort by the NFL to stop it from happening (the colleges may actually promote it).
NFL fandom is more corporate and season ticket holders could lose their tickets for such an act.
NFL stadiums are not 10-20% filled with fans that are 18-22 and might not understand consequences as well.

Is it generally harder to get onto the field in pro stadiums versus college?

I think sPitt would love for fans to be on the field or even at the game. Getting on the field after a Steelers' game probably not going to happen.

The Bills fans tore down the goalposts when they won the AFC in 1988. That’s the last one I remember.
