Wow. Carter is gonna go down as one of the best ever at PSU and in the world. Can’t wait till he wins Gold in October.
The kid is amazing. All top guys have tremendous confidence in themselves. But Carter’s confidence in himself is something different. I don’t think he’s so confident that he lacks respect for his opponents, but losing doesn’t even enter the equation. It’s as if it’s impossible because he believes there is literally no chance for anyone to beat him.

Yet, he is humble enough to know he has more to learn, and he wants to pick up every ounce of it, which is commendable. I know he says he loves doing it, but with his intensity, I hope he doesn’t burn out.

Could he go down as the best ever at PSU? He’s got a legitimate shot. And gulp, all time? (5 titles, 1 loss) I know…long way to even start speculating.

Talk about leaving no doubt as to his intentions, CS is so focused on his goal to be the best. A truly articulate spokesman for making a commitment and pursuing it in relentless fashion. Do not stand in his way!!

Carter has more than 1 loss. Is it 2 or 3? How many times did Kemerer beat him…once or twice?

I love his drive and confidence. Hope he continues his upward trajectory!

2 loses

His true freshman season (2019-20) when he redshirted, he was 19-0 in Open tourneys and the Scuffle.

His RS freshman season (2021), he was 14-2. He lost to Donnell Washington (Indiana), 10-9. (Due to COVID, the season started late. I believe that was the 1st dual of the season.) He also lost to KemDawg in the B1G tourney final, 7-2. (He went on to beat KemDawg in the NCAA final, 3-1 SV.)

One of the aforementioned years became a "free" year (I forget which one), meaning that it did not count as a year of college eligibility.

The following year (2021-22), due to the "free" year is also classified as his freshman year, and he went 23-0.
