It definitely wasnāt art, it was grit and guts. We build the 1st half lead with 3ās even though Ole Miss shot 59% from the field. We didnāt hit those shots in the 2nd half but just out gutted them down the stretch. Iāll take that over art any day. Especially against a talented team like Ole Miss.
At least we hung on for the W. - We`ve had so many like that that we have lost. CMB blocking 7'5" guy was awesome!! Not pretty toward the end but no complaints about #20!!
We had more3ās , more rebounds, and more assists. But more importantly, they are one of the best teams in the country in turn over margin. We had 10 and they had 9. We continue to minimize other teams strengths and make they play our game. We survived their run and held on. What else do you want against a good team?
Great win we did enough to get the victory why talk about losing a lead championship are won on close wins as well as blow out wins go Gamecocks!!!!

Upon watching the replay, you are so right!! NOT taking anything away from CMB, but doggone were we lucky there; I have seen - sooooo many times - fouls called for a whole lot less contact. It could be argued that CMB got him with a little body and on the arm. Again, college MBB refereeing is sooo inconsistent, that we were fortunate there. It was a good no-call, and a fantastic play by CMB!! I'm just glad it went our way!!
Well, upon reflection, he called a foul but he was going to make it a non-shooting foul and we had a foul to give. He could have very well put that man on the line to shoot three shots. It's obvious that something altered that pathetic shot.
If this continues, Paris will be a strong candidate for national coach of the year.

Someone asked why we didn't intentionally foul against tenn when we were up by 4. Last night is exhibit A. I'm sure we wanted to foul well before he shot the ball last night but it was very close. Could have resulted in 3 free throws.
He got the ball first and the hand is part of the ball. Body was minimal and we have seen much less and much worse called and not called. It was a good block. But I have seen MJ knocked on his arse with no call so if it was a foul, we deserved a no call. I will take it
And at the end of the game, JW didnāt foul. The Ole Miss player wanted one, the bench jumped up in hope, the player turned his body and couldnāt get any force on the shot. Then he tried an acting job. Ran it back numerous times. Ref no call was correct call. Most young players just don't execute the intentional foul well. I actually thought we had fouled in the act of shooting and it was going to cost us three free throws. I was already cussing out the TV. LOL!!
