First of all just saying everyone has their own opinion on NIL. Athletes get a full scholarship, room and board, all the food they want to eat, best medical treatment, first class travel to away games all this comes with an estimated value of $700,000 per student. How many people who buy season tickets, support the Gamecock Club make $700,000. Very few. If I am incorret please tell me. If someone wants to support NIL that is their personal decision. When is the entitelment going to come to an end? Look at the coaches who have quit coaching. Lets start in basketball. Roy Williams (UNC) Coack K (Duke), Nick Saban (Alabama). Just to name a few.
I have seen where there are some small schools dropping football and some basketball. I guess that in the next five years you will see a lot of schools dropping football. Probably not the SEC or the BIG10 but a lot of NAIA schools, FCS schools. This NIL, transfer portal cannot be sustained. Whatever personal decision one makes is their decision.

The wild thing to me is that we've decide that 100% free tuition, room, board, physical training, dietary care, medical care, specialized and dedicated academic assistance etc somehow has no value.

In light of NIL, just do away with athletic scholarships.

They either have value or they do not. If they don't have value, then take them away.

These coaches had to retire at some point. They weren't going to coach into their 80's and 90's. They had full, great careers.

I'm never going to blame the players for pushing the envelope as long as theirv playing within the rules. Agree that the system is broken but don't point the finger at the players.

Wow a lot to digest here.
Athletes get full scholarships, food, 1st class travel, Season ticket holders annual income =700k, Entitlement ending, Coaches quitting, Small schools dropping FB, NIL unsustainable, Personal decisions are ones own decisions (sounds redundant)
