Fyi....if you wish to stay at the inn on Ohio State football weekend it will run you a mere $1,200 per night.
A couple of other hotels are charging up to $ 1399.99 From what I am told by an acquaintance who is coming to town for the Alumni Council meetings.Fyi....if you wish to stay at the inn on Ohio State football weekend it will run you a mere $1,200 per night.
They can all GTH!A couple of other hotels are charging up to $ 1399.99 From what I am told by an acquaintance who is coming to town for the Alumni Council meetings.
And they want the fans to pony up from NIL. Crazy.
Who are these people? Seriously, $1400 a night?A couple of other hotels are charging up to $ 1399.99 From what I am told by an acquaintance who is coming to town for the Alumni Council meetings.

And for 3* hotel quality (at best) in the middle of nowhere PA. The hotel gouging in State College is a joke.Who are these people? Seriously, $1400 a night?
Wanna bet that it’s sold out? You cannot underestimate demand for rooms as people want to make the weekend about more than just the football game. And, the pent up desire to once again stay at “the campus” hotel is off the charts.Who are these people? Seriously, $1400 a night?
No it's not. It's supply and demand - that's the way things work in a capitalistic society. Nobody's requiring you to pay those rates. And for 3* hotel quality (at best) in the middle of nowhere PA. The hotel gouging in State College is a joke.
A fool and his money are soon parted.Wanna bet that it’s sold out? You cannot underestimate demand for rooms as people want to make the weekend about more than just the football game. And, the pent up desire to once again stay at “the campus” hotel is off the charts.
It’s not your money so why do you care?A fool and his money are soon parted.
he's not wrong, thoughIt’s not your money so why do you care?
Yeah, it sets up well for folks staying there that weekend. A noon game gives folks the opportunity to enjoy Friday night, enjoy the morning around the hotel and plenty of time to hang after as well. We have our own arrangements but if I were staying there, I would probably plan to walk to and from the hotel to the game.Wanna bet that it’s sold out? Just wait until they drop the 3 night minimum on guests if they haven't already....Fyi....if you wish to stay at the inn on Ohio State football weekend it will run you a mere $1,200 per night.
At some point the market pushes back and I’m not sure any property can justify imposing a 3 night minimum on its customers, even for the biggest games. There is no doubt that $1200 per night is crazy, but they do research and they know that their target market is willing to pay that freight.Just wait until they drop the 3 night minimum on guests if they haven't already....
Hmmmm....I suppose I'm not one of their "target market".At some point the market pushes back and I’m not sure any property can justify imposing a 3 night minimum on its customers, even for the biggest games. Believe that PA's price gouging laws only kick in during a declared time of emergency.I have no idea why the price gouging law doesn’t apply.
