Agree. Northern New Mexico is gorgeous. Fantastic views of the sky and Milky Way.

The biggest elk I ever saw in my life was coming off the San Andres Mountains headed to White Sands NP to drink. And I've seen all the tame ones in Estes that eat out of dumpsters. This one dwarfed those. I swear it was 475 class or bigger.

Breaking Bad was excellent.

I still haven't talked the wifey into binging it with me. She put it on the summer list and wants to start Peaky Blinders. I can tell her something is good but if a co-worker or my daughter says something about a sow it gets shoved to the top. I still can't believe she liked The Witcher so much but it did make her open to trying other fantasy shows.

I was going to tell you to divorce her but then you said that she wants to watch Peaky... Easily both are in my top 4 of all time shows.

I hit some of the longest tee shots of my life playing Black Mesa. At least they felt that way. Gotta love high altitude and elevated tee boxes.

NM is ****. very different beauty, but it is beautiful. i drive through 4 times a year, round a bout. Stay TF away from Espanola. Might be the worst place i've ever been through. i've felt sorry for certain people in certain parts of the US, but i've never actually stopped what i was doing and gave thanks to the good Lord for what i have. The drive from Albuquerque to Chama is cool. the casino about half way between is REALLY nice. reminds me of a wedding pop up tent. thats really what it is.

I have probably been to/through Espanola at least 2 dozen times. I don't agree with that at all. I have been to the Mississippi Delta and some really downtrodden towns in LA... And Detroit. All way more depressing. Espanola has a Chili's in the Lowe's parking lot. It just doesn't have anything green.

Last time through was Thanksgiving in 2019 on the way to and from Durango. We stopped and ate lunch at the Pizza Hut in Espanola. We usually spent about a week in Taos or a resort between Santa Fe and Espanola every year from 08'-18'. Never spent the night in Espanola, but it was always a place to grab lunch. Right outside of town is Bandelier National Monument and the Puye cliff dwellings. Los Alamos national laboratory is also there. About an hour away is Valles Caldera, which is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Take a guided fly fishing trip to the Valles Caldera if you want to change your life.

Finally Black Mesa is in Espanola. Junction John has obviously played there. Beautiful golf course. Extremely surreal to see all that green in the high desert.

All that said, there are a lot of cholos in Espanola. Maybe that's what you are praying about, not sure. I never really paid attention myself but I did live in East Dallas and Central San Antonio where cholos run around like fireants.

yeah, Chili's isn't what makes the town to me. lol. when you get outside of the "town" part of Espanola, its the worst place i've seen. i've been all over, and just the poor, sickly looking, not doing **** people make it terrible. we have a place in Pagosa Springs, so we are on the same roads. you've seen it, just weren't looking at it how i was maybe. people see things differently. once you get through that part of hwy 84, the scenery is quite impressive.

Fair enough. If you're always passing through coming up from Santa Fe and crossing the river to head up north you only see the sad side of town for sure. If you stay straight and go up 68 it's a lot nicer and newer. As for the squaller you are talking about, those are the injuns... Some of those little buildings are a couple hundred years old and have 2 centuries worth of **** outside.

That stretch up 84 from Phillips 66 past the Abiquiu reservoir to Mustang is unbeatable. Spent a little time in Pagosa, have a good friend from there... Where is your place?
